A deep burgundy shading to maroon at the rim with the opaque core hiding the abundant sediment that it’s throwing. The nose exhibits plum, blackberry, iodine, smoked meats, and eucalyptus that then tracks exactly on the palate. Lighter in body but very Italian in style … and food friendly. Delightfully deft. A fair amount of sediment. 14% alc. With blue cheeses and truffled cheese over seared (beef) sirloin steak. 12.22.23. Recommended.

Excellent wine. Bought from the winery and opened about 6 months later at home. Nose isn't too long, but great mouthfeel and nice meaty, dark fruits on the palate. Long, pleasant finish.

Juniper, black pepper, black fruits, thyme, very spicy especially on the quite long finish, but all surprisingly finely woven, with good tannins and high acidity providing freshness and balance. A wine with a lot of character. Still young, but very beautiful. 17+/20

Bought from the winery 7-8y ago. There is a Tuscan feel after all, fleshy with moderate oak treatment that seem to be nicely integrated. Juicy, with hints of lavender and maybe thyme. I must admit very delicious and in perfect shape now, will keep...

Wow! I was never expecting a Syrah from Tuscany to score this highly. This had aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, wild thyme, lavender, a whiff of tobacco, this leads to a full-body and rich palate full of overripe dark black fruit, liquorice, anise, vanilla, crushed stones with polished tannins and lively acidity. The finish was long and elegant. Super impressed!

Chianti Classico tour 2019 - 2 -Conca D'Oro in Panzano + B a C: I visited the winery 4 y ago, and they were pouring syrah 2011 then, surprised to see that 2009 bottle was opened for tasting. Fresh and spicy with a touch of balsamic notes, it is quite nice actually and very fresh for 10y old wine, seems like it will gracefully age for another decade.

This is the current vintage pouring at the winery in 2019, and I will say that it does not show its age at all, still feeling quite primary. That said, it's also rather flabby and while it has some interesting enough smokey bacon notes it's all together just laying it on too thick for my tastes.

Belle couleur sombre, brillante, nez épicé, poivré, sous bois, bouche fruitée, complexe, tannins soyeux, magnifique, très belle syrah qui s’ouvre au bout de quelques heures, belle complexité, encore un assez beau potentiel

Two hour decant, nose and palate began with muted dark fruit and dark earth and opened up after an additional hour, this wine guzzles air. Well balanced, the QPR is not great, it is too expensive for what it delivers even for a nine year old bottle

Tasted at The Wine Society's Italian Growers evening, Reading, UK. A rare chance to try this wine at 9 years after the vintage. Deep ruby colour. The nose is full, rich spicy, with blackcurrants and orange peel. The palate is full bodied, smooth, peppery, spicy. It's generally quite a big wine. Very good, but a little pricey.

A week in Tuscany (and Lots of wines); 10/19/2015-10/21/2015 (Tuscany, Italy): As we make Syrah, I am always interested to get a chance to try other Syrahs. There are some in Italy, but not too many, so this was a treat. Ruby/purple in color. The nose is earthy with boysenberries. 14% Alc. On the palate, this is medium bodied. Nice tart boysenberry fruit. Good acidity. This comes across as cooler climate in style. Not what I was expecting for Tuscany and I assume that is more a style choice. I don't think blind I would call this as Syrah. No green notes, but the fruit was not particularly ripe. That said, this is Italy, and this wine needs to be served at the table with dinner. In that light, this is an excellent wine that is quite good and very enjoyable.

Subtle notes of spice, ripe red fruit, smoky oak notes, very shy
Lean, restrain, mineral, dark fruit, spice but missing mid palate.
