Another bottle, still going a year after the last one. In fact, it got to 91 after two hours of air. Fun to experience, although not something you would choose more than a time or two.

Another Saturday at Knightsbridge - mostly blind (Northbrook, IL): Tasted double blind. Very rustic all the way through from first sniff to finish. Moderate fruit, lots of earth, lots of prominent acidity and firm structure without the fruit or spice quality to make it work really well. Others liked this more than I did this afternoon.

Missed the window on this one, not bad but if you own some of this I would suggest that you consume it pronto! Not much fruit on the nose, dark berries with a disjointed finish.

A darker red color than the 97. The wine is drinking nicely right now. The acidity dominates more than it should, but some classic old school Rioja flavors are still coming through. However, it's not nearly as delicious as better Muga wines. The tannins are surprisingly strong - this must have been tough to drink when younger.

Lighter in color. Pink at the rim with clear edges. A little spicy in the nose. Smells of light cherries and vanilla. Taste is good, but acidic and a little tannic with a medium finish. Smells better than it tastes. With air, the palate got harsher. Decent for the money.

EOTC $15-20 Blind Rioja Tasting (Robert & Shefali's): Pure red, somewhat thin. Nose of cherries, gentle fruits, less alcohol than others tonight. Tart cherries, rather acidic. Nice wine, well structured, very tasty.

Very nice wine. Still seemed a bit closed. A little tart on the palate, but great flavor and a little spicy bite. This was my first adventure into Spanish wine and I loved it. Could not get enough!

Warm colour, starting to mature; wonderful nose, ripe and aromatic, complex, new oak, tarry depth, ripe and sweet fruit (raspberry and redcurrant), harmonious and mature; rounded and ripe, good weight, lovely style, a firm but well-wrapped structure, good tannic grip; complete finish. Excellent Rioja.

Gentle touch of oak, but not too much, soft and elegant, plums, leather, chocolate and spices. In a good spot now.

Fabulous. Soft, gentle, pillowy sensations. Leather, stewed prunes, cinnamon. Intense puckering - clearly still considerable tannin - peppery spicy, truffley. Wonderful. So good!

Agree with Vinu, it's fading so drink up. However, it's still pleasant to drink and enjoyable.

Still holding its own - with Turkish food - starting to flatten so drink quickly!

Quite nice. Oak shows through with an olive-laced black fruit profile. Medium bodied. At a good point. Drinks well above its usual level.

Fading? Patricia says too much acid. Fruit is fading. Probably need to start drinking up.
