PnP, with loads of bacon, olive, and blackberry on the nose. Takes some time to open on the palate, eventually revealing primary notes of ripe blackberry flanked by touches of black olive and smoked meat. This is a very good example of mature SB Syrah at a reasonable price.

Not a typical Shiraz. Just a bit of spice. Almost black in color. Blueberry nose. Very smooth, some prune. A pleasing slightly bitter finish. Had it with Italian; probably would have been better with a steak or burger (or on its own).

Aromas of warm blueberry compote, smoky BBQ sauce and tomato paste follow through on the palate. Some initial sulphur funk blew off within 5 minutes. The nose had medium intensity at first, but it seemed to fade somewhat over the course of the evening. At this stage, it is a rich but rather soft, lush, easy drinking wine that I would probably opt to consume in the relative near term (1-2 years). It will go longer, but I'm not sure what would be gained by sitting on it. At $25 (probably less in other markets), I think this syrah is a relative bargain.

Aromatic, gamey, tomato paste in metal can. Off-dry to medium sweet. Medium-full body. Tart acidity with medium, dry tannins. Black currant & raspberry. Lengthy 5-7 second finish. Nice QPR.

Consistent with prior note. Dark inky magenta color with boisterous nose of dark/blue fruit. Full bodied, fruit-filled palate with some underlying pepper/spice. Nice prolonged finish with no alcohol to obscure the fruit. Well balanced wine with fine structure to balance a fruit forward wine. Preferred over Copain Brousseau on same evening.

Wow. Superb QPR that reminds me of Jaffurs SB County Syrah (my ultimate QPR wine). Complex nose, full bodied with rip-roaring fruit, spice, and a touch of sweetness without being overdone. Everything is in balance, drinks well without food and with Mediterranean food.

Shows some heat on the bouquet, then bitter and sweet separate and and entwine on a dark juicy plane.

Good, but a bit too earthy for my tastes.

A nice, balanced syrah. Fruity with a nice, slightly earthy, backbone. Good tannins and a medium finish. Should age well for at least a few years.
Excellent for the price.

Big wine. Loads of oak and tannin. Loads of fruit as well. Big black fruits. Tar. Approachable now, but this really wants some time in the cellar.
