(Disgorged November 2018, base year 2016, 40% Pinot Noir, 10% Meunier and 50% Chardonnay, dosage 7 gr/L) Herbs, smokiness and hints of banana sweetness as it opens up in the glass. Lovely bittersweet acidity from yellow plum peels and with a very lengthy finish showing kaffir lime leaves. A bit “messy” in a nice and pleasant way that will reward some extra cellaring… (Probably best with 3-9 years extra cellaring)

Well balanced, concentrated straight forward champagne, good pear early summer blossom, some acidity making it a versatile Chinese canton food companion.

Brief - Tart at first, with acidity reminding me of tomatoes. Noticed a minerality, like chalk, next. Finally, notes of biscuit and the faintest hint of toast.

My first time with this producer, one of Avize’s best. This clearly young bottle was quite light bodied, clean and slightly hard (a positive), the low dosage really suits this wine and it went superbly with the food. X(X)

Lots of toast and yeast on the nose. A fascinating nose and palate.

A good reasonably priced bubbles. Nice fruit on the nose and well balanced. Not super complex.

Mørk rugbrødsagtig, surdejsnæse, der går igen i smagen. Serveret til kartoffel og bacon. Ikke et superhit hos mig.
