Opened two days ago (July 5). Good cork, kudos, and stained purple black, no infiltration at all. Wine was reticent, and almost no flavor and closed upon opening, but today it is really great. Fruit is deep, succulent, and makes me crave sip after sip. Swished in mouth, and astringent, but only so. Alcohol upon exhale through nose. What fruit is this? Seems deep, like berry or currant, something thick and luscious. Something unique to note about this wine, something not experienced with any others I've had. The wine is cohesive when sipped but breaks down into its components when aerated/swished in mouth, and those components are disjointed. But it is totally together when sipped, and it's very good. This seems ready now. I've had this open under cork for 3 days and it's been great each day. CT drink dates say drink by 2022, but based on the fruit and tannin level, this will/should hold together for up to five more years. Recommended, and I would certainly buy again.

This is 96+ for me! Lovely wine! Decanted 2 hrs in the bottle and 30m in the decanter. Another 30-60m in a decanter wouldn't hurt. Served it at room temperature, but perhaps 15m in the fridge would do it well.
Sweet and spicy. Still, lots of tannins and it got the potential to be aged more (I'm so happy I have another case of it!). Paired it with steak, calf steak, and burger - it did compliment all of them perfectly, however, I enjoyed it best by itself!

Pre-phylloxera vines of approximately 160 years. (100% tempranillo, aged for 14 months in new French oak; 15% alcohol). Deep ruby color. Intense nose of plums, ripe black cherries, tobacco, smoke, sweet spices. Wine is dense, fresh, with medium+ acidity and plenty of silky tanins. Very long. Perfect now, but will stay 5-6 years at least.

This 11 years old Bottle from Castilla y Leon, is the last bottle of 12. Dark red, lots of legs coming down slowly and spacious, pre announcing how round it is. Light aromas and strong taste of tar, ripe black berries, finishing in a long and dry . We had it with Paella and it’s pairing were magnificent. Salud, Chin Chin and cheers. 🤤

Always a joy to have a really well built Tempranillo. Has not dropped off since I last had it several years ago. Fruit is really good, and bouquet was heady and apparent in room after removing cork. Wine seems a bit smoother than last try, more integrated, but there is a lightness and delicate feel to it also despite a fruit forward presence. My previous statement was a great food wine and this has not changed. Also, cork once again built like a brick wall and stained deep magenta. Doesn't show any signs of falling apart. CT says drink by 2022 but I have to wonder if it can go even farther, although not certain to what benefit other than wine still staying strong. Recommended.

Impressionnant ! 94+

Good not great. Recalling the 2004 vintage, I was looking forward to this wine and perhaps expectations were a little high on my end, PnP and the wine was lively, it felt young, fruity, pleasantly surprised. Over time, the wine preceded to go slightly downhill, never really, it was good, nice earthy tones, integrated, and refined. Pleasant drink, not very memorable. Around 91 rating.

Fully opaque ruby core fading to amber rim. Intense aromas and flavors of black truffles accompanied by plum, black cherry, tobacco, and potpourri. High acidity, soft tannins, and incredible length. Made from 100% Tempranillo sourced from vines over 100 years old. Fermented in small French oak casks then aged 14 months in new French oak barriques. 14.5% ABV.

Nose of tobacco, dark plums, dark berries. On the palate, dark berries, sandalwood, plums, pencil lead, licorice and graphite. Long finish with drying tannins. This wine is delicious and has many more years of enjoyable life ahead. I wish I had a case of this vintage. What a bargain.

dense ruby color. nose with plenty of sweet fruit, sweet potatoes with butter and brown sugar, oak, a little leather, and fennel. palate is full and nicely balanced. only downside is a bit of noticeable heat. a truly symphonic blend of forward fruits on the palate. plums, cherries, various berries, and a bit of licorice are there. plenty of tannic backbone. nice now with some air, would like to see it again in five years.

This 7 to 8 years old bottle is better than the others. It gets better every time I drink one. Complex, , light leather aromas together with berries, round and balanced tannin and acidity makes one of best Tempranillo I have drunk.

Persistent bouquet of blackberry, dark ripe plums and incense. Moderately drying tannins indicate this wine has years ahead of it, but it is enjoyable now. Layers of dark fruit and spice end with a moderate finish. This is a solid vintage. The wine even had more complex layers on day 2 and 3.

Solid cork, just what I like frem a Spanish wine. Was a different profile Grenache that I am used to. Initially fruit was present but I had sense it was held back. it wasn't until the next day the full potential of the wine appears. Fruit and tannins intensified and the alcohol was a powerful, though not readily detectible, force. This is a very good food wine. Don't think this is quite ready unless well decanted. Recommended.

The wine is clear and bright with a medium garnet colour.
The nose is clean and developing, showing pronounced intensity aromas of dark fruit (dark plums, dark cherries), pungent spices (black pepper, liquorice), oak (cedar, clove) and herbaceous notes (sage).

I usually shy away from Tempranillo wines, however, I thought I would give this one a try. In my opinion, Tempranillo wines are either very good or not so good, there's really no in between. To my surprise this particular Cenit was delicious. As many of our fellow reviewers have said, you need to decant, as you should with all big wines. This wine can use at least an hour but I found two hours decanting worked well. Give it a go I think you'll really enjoy it.

Big and monolithic on first day. Obviously some nice material, but I really didn't enjoy it day one as it was too brutish. On the other hand, about 30 hours later it had settled down and showed a silky and more androgynous if not quite feminine character, which was far more approachable. Hold. 91-93?

Dark purple to the edge, not much of a nose, but it explodes with intense dark fruit flavor and lots of spice -- cinnamon, allspice, clove. When first open, there is a bit of tannin on the finish, but that is no longer apparent after about one hour in a decanter. This goes well with hearty lamb stew, cheeses. and I would guess that it has many years ahead before it reaches its peak.
