I agree with many of the more recent comments on this wine; full bodied, dark and very good. Looks like it aged well. 17 year old wine, just kept getting better with age.

Wow! I was expecting a good wine and it was better than good. Fruit is fading but there's still plenty of dark fruit to be found. But the coffee, cocoa, and leather aromas and flavors really made this wine enjoyable. Tannins fading and acidity and alcohol in good harmony. 13.9% abv.

Tasted at a poker party. Wine decanted 6-hours. Fruity nose that shed more than a hint of oak; also hints of cabernet bell pepper and a little funk. We were having a little fun guessing double-blind, and I guessed the region, style and varietal on nearly style alone. Decent red fruit up front that turns bitter with cedar-infused mouth fatigue from the excessive oak treatment. Low to medium-low acid and still some tannin showing in the oak-clipped finish. Perhaps a decent value for what it is, but this really isn't something I can drink more than a glass of with much pleasure.

Tasted blind. Slightly weedy on the nose with some pretty blackberry peeking through. Soft entry of flat black fruit that slightly watery in feel. Has some nice herbal elements & red plum flavors. Very hollow in the mid palate.

Decent, but not outstanding. Decanted an hour before tasting, which helped the fruit and oak open up a little, but it seemed to never fully develop. Fairly short finish.

Decent bottle. Either not as good as the others, or my palate is more developed now. My wife really liked it, but I found it to be pretty heavy on the oak. I have two left and I don't see this improving much more.

This is a definite go-to Cabernet for $20. Consistently delicious, and I feel comfortable serving it to everyone. Great "cellar defender," but I have a few 2004s laying down, too. Better than the 2005 edition, but 2005 is good so I'm guessing that's just a product of 2004 being a great year.

Decanted 75 mins before tasting, paired with ribeye steak. Nose: bright, citrus, and somewhat closed. Surprisingly light on the tip of the tongue, and a medium body on the mid-palate. Finish is tannic with a very smooth fruit flavor, and it lasts for over 90 seconds. Since this is somewhat early to drink a 2004 Napa Cab, the rating reflects the future potential of this bottle, as the nose and fruit seem not fully developed.

Saddle leather, old plums, dark fruit, solid structure. Softened quickly after opening.

Perfectly balanced. Drank the previous bottles too early; wish I had more.
The wine looks Purple colored. It smells like Blackberry, and Dust.

Soft and fruity, but not much life left in it. Wasn't really complex, but went well with our pasta.

Very nice blackberry flavors. We opened this with beef tenderloin towards the end of Thanksgiving dinner.

Consistently one of our favorites in the $20 range (available on sale for $16ish). Pairs very nicely with a sharp cheddar, colby, or of course, steak.
