Deep garnet, almost brown. This wine has seen better days. A musty smell never cleared up over two hours of airing and tasting. In the mouth, the flavors were gentle, rich-bodied, pleasant enough, but still relatively simple. This was not a popular wine with anyone at the table.

I've had this in my Cellar for 10 years, bought a case, time in the bottle has evolved this wine, hits you int the mouth, velvety, dark fruit, really enjoyed the 11th bottle.

From Derek: Really good - better than previous bottles. Seems to have integrated seamlessly, and displays flavors of tobacco, cherry, and rich earth. Excellent wine, especially for the price point.

I've been wanting to try this one, based on the recent good experience with the Escudo Rojo. The wine is initially more subtle, with berry, spice, and a little oak flavor. Tannins are present, but not The nose is wonderful - dominated by the spice. The fruit is more subtle than expected, but there's enough structure in the wine to support it. This is drinking well now, and is likely to improve.
