  • Aperta 2 ore prima.

  • zeer mooi lekker wijntje. Prachtig gerijpt. Warm vol, typische bordeaux

  • Similar to my notes from 2019. This time the rims were brownish, guess this is not made for long-time ageing as some other big house Bordeaux...

  • Similar impression as half a year ago, maybe a bit more ripe. I doubt that this will get any better with further storage...

  • We had the 2008 and 2010 alongside non-blind at a BBQ with friends, 2h decant in the glass.

    2010 (92p)
Dark red colour. On the palate blackerries and plums, smooth tannins, tobacco, wood and soil. Lots of tertiary characteristics. Long finish. Textbook Bordeaux. Drink until 2025.

    2008 (89p)
Dark red brownish colour, cherry-rubber nose. Less dense, complex and veltvetly than 2010 but still a great wine. Mainly cherries, wood and tannins on the palate, rather bold. Medium finish. Drink up sooner than later given the brownish colour and rubber notes.

Very interesting small vertical tasting with 2010 being the winner.

  • 7 hours of decanting killed it completely, made it stone-dead: sour as hell, oxidized and dull - recorded as experience..

  • after 3-4 hours:

big cedar nose with sage and red plum fruit, raspberry/strawberry-thing going on but also black berry -
rusty nails, cinnamon, mint, dark cherry, balsamico, earth and a hint of dark chocolate, very leathery, smoky and chewy at the moment..
pain grille, dust, pencil shavings - good balance and acidity.
mild, elegant and very smooth habana cigar box aftertaste

if opened now decant for at minimum 3 hours..it will loose its tannin grip, powerfull acidity and become more complex and spicier..

long aftertaste - this is how a bordeaux should be like!

  • Merlot dominant, something like 70/30 with Cab Franc. Nose is soft, promises smooth road ahead, dark cherry, chocolate, dried black plum. Palate is big in fruit, adds some earth tones of woody must, damp forest, really nice example of Old World merlot. Acidity and structure nice as well.
