Day 1: Rustic wine with earth, leather, prunes, chocolate and underbrush. More classic in style than some of the modern fruit bombs that Ribera has been producing lately. For the $8 I paid for this certainly worth it. 87 points Day 2: Very similar to day 1. Acidity is lacking a bit. 87 points Day 3: Probably not a good idea with this one. Muted flavors and not much excitement. 82 points Recommendation: If you own this wine drink now!

Values in Ribera del Duero (Chris H's home): Purple in color. The nose has a slight funk/barnyard to it. Also some plums. Firm tannins. Slightly tart dark cherry fruit on the palate. Not a lot of depth. Bitterness on the finish. Decent enough wine for around $20.

For a mass produced wine, I do find some vintages better than others and 2011 is not one of the best. None the less, it doesn't disappoint. Dark fruit and blueberries. Just pleasant to drink. Leaving half a bottle to Day 2 showed more bitterness and raisin notes.

(Spanish Dinner w Uncle Richard & Aunty Arouny, Chirong and Fangseng) Easy, effusive dark berries, bright and lifted, soft tannins, sunny acidity, with decent balance and concentration. Blue and red berries on the finish. Easy and perfect w our tapas selection! Yummy!

Very dark. Smells of oak and blackberry. Tastes of oak, dark fruit and tannin. So pour the glass of wine back into the bottle and see if it improves and is perhaps more drinkable tomorrow.....24 hrs. and not much change.

Dark blue colour. The nose is full with ripe, dark berries and a touch of vanilla and smoke. On the palate the wine is fullbodied with plenty of ripe, dark fruit (blackberry, blueberry, strawberry), notes of vanilla and a good finish. There is enough acid to keep it fresh, and the tannins are smooth but present. Good value and easy drinking!

Fruit encore vivant, bonne structure. Il est capable d'attendre encore. Très bien pour un vin à 21$.

Nice nose, complex on the palate. Good overall, but still too young.

Medium ruby-garnet. Ripe nose with blackberries, sweet spices and some green scents. Medium-bodied, soft and balanced with medium length.
