  • Bottle #7 of 174 from 2012. Extremely good. As noted by someone else, the cork was a bit spongy at the top but fine at the bottom. Just be careful taking it out.

  • Opened magnum #14 of 14. Cork was starting to turn spongy at the top of the bottle, but the part that was touching the wine was fine and intact. Tasted right away to test: ripe black cherry, very promising. Decanted about half of the magnum for 90 minutes, then revisited. Far more complex, really starts to get good after 2.5 hours of air time: cherry cordial, black fruit with black pepper and subtle baking spices, well integrated flavors. Aromas of red and black cherry, secondary notes of graphite and black plum. Fascinating wine, very deep, charismatic blend of clones that results in a chimera. Extremely enjoyable. One of the most compelling Pinot Noir releases I have ever tried.

  • Bottle #173 of 174 750ml bottles released in 2012. Vibrant, ripe black cherry aroma, very focused. Subtle undertones of earth and a little heat rippling through. Wow, it's really nice right away! Well integrated aromas: There is a brightness and a ripeness together here that is sublime. Delicious as well: Preserved, ripe black cherries in syrup but without the sweetness, drying tannins, medium acidity at first that I expect will ease up as this aerates. Truly lovely.
