  • I wasn't expecting this; I really should get rid of my pre-conceived ideas about SA Shiraz, especially The Clare Valley. The nose is currants and raisins, with a streak of red forest fruits and vanilla that leaves you with a very sweet impression. The palette is savoury and spicy, but with a bite of acidity and a sweet black fruit hit that keeps back the detectable alcohol. This is very interesting and atypical, and really delivers for the price. It's not something I'd probably drink regularly, but there us something here for the old and new world Shiraz fan alike.
