Nice easy drinking syrah. Fragrant nose of black cherries and licorice with a hint of white pepper on the finish. Nice acidity and good length. Very smooth.

What a shame domestic wine can't be more realistically priced. A very nice, balanced and structured wine that drank like a good Saint-Joseph with some years on it but that Saint Joseph would not cost 35 dollars, more like 18-20.

When we first opened it, it was great, big and bold, but as the night went on it got a bit "muddy" and flabby for me. Wonder would have happened if we waited a few more years.

On the second day this becomes very integrated and balanced. A big wine of dark fruits that has the roundness of high alcohol but carries it fairly well. Roasted coffee and earthy notes that are pleasant. Smooth finish. Cali all the way. It's a meal (dessert) in a glass.

Dense and powerful, dark spices, bark, graphite and hints of motor oil complementing black cherry and dark elderberry notes. Long and complex finish with little in the way of pepper. I'm buying more.

Perfectly balanced and quite cosmopolitan. Wish I had more.
