Over the hill, despite being kept in ideal conditions. Has lost its fruit, and is left with flabby secondary notes [insert crying emoji]. Bought it at a tasting with the winemaker himself and he’d said some vintages can go 30 years... I suspect premox

La Tour Restaurant Rue de le Nouvelle Place, 18300 Sancerre, France.
Upon opening, this Sancerre appeared pleasant through the mid palate, with a quite an abrupt finish. One hour in, allowing wine to come to room temperature wine is showing balance, aromas of baked apple & subtle spice. Enjoyed with entree dishes of Squid & Turbot at La Tours!
89 on open, 91 after an hour to room temperature.

Wonderful minerality and balance. One of the best Sancerres I've ever tasted. Needs time, though (the winemaker said this will improve for up to 25 years).

Some acid back of palate. Mild grapefruit, not overwhelming. Wish there was a bit more body. Not filling the mouth like i would expect. But perfectly fine for a nice lunch quaff!

Seguramente necesita muitos mais anos em garrafa. Aromas delicados de frutas brancas. Em boca longo.

A Cold, Foggy Afternoon in Sancerre-Mellot and Vacheron (Sancerre, France): Forward, perfumed nose. Nice mix of grassiness and bitter orange. Fantastic feel but again the oak speaks too loudly. Excellent acidity, deep vein of soil. Very good but not the best white we tasted.

Straw colored. Medium acid with some bite. Very nice mid-palate richness. Not too complex, but satisfying.
