I have had previous bottles that were not impressive, but this one hit the spot. Gentle spicy dark red fruits worked perfectly with the gentle flavours of roast veal and the more aggressive of a spicy red cabbage dish. Nice balance, certainly no aggressive acidity and my only criticism was that the finish was possibly a little short...

To balance my previous two wildly disparate TN's, the tannins from the earliest note have ameliorated. Slight funk on the nose, maybe a little lactic sour milk note. Acid is only slighty out of balance (on the high side) so I probably had an off bottle in my second note, but I got my bottles from 2 different sources. All and all, acceptable but not memorable. Bottle variation noted. Continue to drink up.

Searing acidity, practically takes the roof of your mouth off. Nose was fine, but the acidity makes it almost undrinkable, certainly not enjoyable after one glass.

Tasted in double-blind fashion at Vintage Wines, Ltd. Bottle provided by Ed Porth. Bright disc. Deep garnet robe with brick rim. Clean nose, with very intense aromas of red currants, spice box, brier, tar and black pepper. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, with good acidity, ample sweet tannins and similar flavors as for the nose. Very long, smooth finish. Absolutely beautiful!

Fairly consistent with my note of 4/21, still too acidic. 2 more btls to drink up and get this crap out of my cellar.

At a horizontal tasting of 11 1995 Chateauneuf (not blind). Tannic on palate, but lovely nose. My 2nd favorite, group 4th. Drink now to 2010.

Seattle Tasting Group does Southern Rhône (Seattle, WA, USA): Spicy nose, nice nuances. Bitterness and blackness on the palate. Drying tannins. Seemingly a wine of great potential but to my palate not drinking well right now.
