We had this with Christmas eve dinner with cornish hens, ham and assorted sides. The cork broke in half so was a bit worried that it might be corked. It was not - decanted and waited about 20 minutes - Super supple velvety goodness. While I am a bit sad that I only have one more bottle, not that it was so good and complemented the food perfectly.

Normally I love all Fidelitas wines but we both thought this was not one of their best. Lots of sludge in the bottle and dull and hardly any fruit. Very disappointing. Hope it was just this bottle.

Couldn't be more different from my previous bottle. Decanted. Nice nose, showing some oak influence (toasty though, maybe less vanilla) soft smoky notes, loads of dark red fruit and some herbs/dark earth. On the palate, good acidity, full bodied with more ripe red fruit. Mouth-coating tannin that is soft and downy, but still enveloping. Juicy finish. Tannin will probably soften more, but this is in an excellent place right now.

PnP and consumed over a few hours. Dark ruby red with a nose of deep red fruit, oak and must floor.
On the palate the wine is quite balanced, tannin is smooth and the acids and alcohol are playing together quite well. Beautiful red fruit up front but not a bomb. The oak is making a nice showing and it gives a smooth lush mouth feel.
Drinking well now and it has year or two on it.

This was really tight to begin, and only begrudgingly opened up after a couple of hours to deliver some nice smoke/ash/herbal notes, as well as some dark red fruits on the nose. There is a fair amount of alcohol on the nose as well, which is distracting, and maybe because of this the toasty oak was a little less noticeable than it might otherwise be. This is very rich on the palate, but there is some coarseness, which transitions to heat. The tannins definitely coat your mouth and the finish lasts a long time, but there is residual bit of that harsh bite on the close, which I might attribute to youth.
Day 3 and no signs of oxidation. This was arguably the best day for this wine. The herbs and smoke are more prominent on the nose, along with some deep dark red fruits and a hint of toast. The tannins have softened and the acidity is still crisp. Probably won't touch my other bottle for a long while.

Toasted oak and red fruits dominate the nose and palate. Approachable, juicy, and soft taste profile. Very good acid, lightly structured. A certain crowd pleaser. A bit disappointing overall for a Red Mountain wine.

Still young, but a lot of promise. Full bodied with nice round easy mouth feel. Good acid and smooth tannins for a merlot. Drink in 5 years and I expect it to be at peak.

In a very good place right now. Prominent dark fruit, tannins resolved, delightful.

This wine is really rounding into shape. Tannins are smoothing out. Nose is lovely fruit and Oak top notes. Lot's of fruit on the body. A long finish.

Powerful, well-structured merlot - Soft with firm dusty tannins. Lingering finish

Still young from a cold growing season, little on the green side.
