A fantastic Chard... But not for everyone. big, buttery and seemingly aged in new oak and malolactic fermentation it was creamy, rich and tropical with just enough acidity to keep it lively on the palate. Not a Chard for the un-oaked Chard lovers

This wine has held up. But we didn't give it much time. Oops. As a matter of fact, "limestone creme brulee" kind of takes the cake when it comes to the winning descriptor for this bottle. The aftertaste is actually quite appealing - kind of like a minty butterscotch. Very nice wine, and I wish I had another case of it because it is affordable, intriguing, and complex, and has another 2-3 years.

Great Chard... Full Malo so it was rich and plush on the palate but not overly oaky at all. there are wonderful stone fruit aromas and wonderfully crisp on the palate, not Chablis crisp but Sonoma crisp and balanced and not flabby at all.

A very different chard that's for sure. Words like "Sweetness, buttered lace, smooth yet course, limestone creme brulee" were all used to describe this wine at the dinner table. Perhaps it's the red clay, but this wine was very different. The wine poured a medium straw yellow into the glass. The nose was a little lemongrass and honeydew. The palate was a little bit of a mismatch, and not necessarily in a bad way. The wine seemed like it was going to be very buttery up front, but the butter QUICKLY faded to reveal some copper penny, creme brulee, lemon, honeydew, and white chocolate, and finished with an acidic melon characteristic but was all very soft by the finish with a touch of oak. A nice quick glass of wine with dinner. Not my favorite, but in a way I'm glad to hold this other bottle for a year or two to see what happens to it. I think this one needs to held 1-2 years to see what happens in all honesty. The other RY Chards were a lot more dense and buttery than this.

Wonderful. Rich, creamy with a little butterscotch. Went fabulously with P.E.I oysters and freshly caught grouper. Never disappoints.

A bit oaky, but for the price, terrific value.
