Long past its prime, YUCK. Took one sip and poured the rest down the drain. Giving my other bottle to the next person I see begging for money next to the freeway offramp.

After 18 months, this might have mellowed slightly but still exhibits overpowering leather. Have no idea what JR saw in this one--this is a Garagiste fail. Not sure what to do with the last bottle...

It was a bit rough at first but the second day was really enjoyable as a QPR. The tannins are bright and there is some minerality on the back end. Impressive for a bottle that cost less that $10.

What a fun bottle when you pull the cork it says "well done".. Anyway this was a very tasty wine and for $8.99 unbelievable, pity I only bought three bottle as it is really good. This from a town that has a population of around 500 folk.

This wine presents the onephiles existential conundrum. Do I pay the alcohol tax to continue drinking it or do I pour it? Which I did with Manga del Brujo 2010 last night. I am sticking with this right now only because half the bottle is gone. If it has anything going for it it is the fact that it is wine. Not so good, but wine none the less. Why waste our time? Really?

Emphasis is very much on herbal and earthy characteristics, with scant fruit. Big noseful of leather, black pepper, granite, wet forest floor, with accents of clove. Whiffs of blackberry and black cherry poke out. A little more fruit on the palate, but again spice predominates. Dry finish with a good amount of tannin. Note: Drinks much better with a lot of air. Tasted much better on the second night. Upon opening, it's frankly a hot mess (both literally and figuratively; there's a booziness that diminishes with time). Rating is based on second-night impression.

Woh! Overpowering leather on the nose along with dark fruits, some vanilla and did I mention the leather? Even after decanting, while a little less lopsided, it was still too much so it went in the fridge. We'll try again another night.

Garagiste purchase. Popped & poured through Vinturi and drank over 1h. Not unpleasant to drink and at $9/bottle who can complain? But to be clear, this wine is neither sophisticated nor does it have that rustic panache and internal harmony that can make an "unsophisticated" wine special. The various aromas and flavors aren't in perfect harmony-There is this weird dusty/musty component that isn't really well integrated with the rest of the spice-dominated makeup. Nice to have tried this once. Wouldn't buy again though don't regret having bought 3 bottles.
Update-MUCH better on day 2. Subsequent bottles deserve a longish decant.

- Crimsom color and aromas of raspberry and cherry. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of cherry with a medium body - Solid wine that is enjoyable by itself or with food.

Interesting wine. Initial nose of mint/eucalyptus/bell pepper which blows off to reveal licorice and plum. On the palate it's balanced but lean with strong notes of mineral, savory, sage and lavender. A regular Mediterranean cornucopia! I would score it higher if it had a little more umph, although one of its big attractions is the lean profile it cuts so go figure?
Not very expensive so a lot of bang for the buck. Strange label although the "well done" on the (removed) cork was a cute touch. Hahaha.

Nope, couldn't wait a month after receiving this from Garagiste, more like a week. High-pitched meat broth aroma along with dark red fruits and iron. The mourvedre speaks loudly on the nose. I drank a Beaucastel a few months back, a wine in which the percentage of mourvedre is usually about 30, and it really dominated that wine as well. Alpha grape. On the palate the 'Open Now' is silky with dusty tannins on a medium body and clipped finish. A bit of an innocuous experience in the mouth; surprising considering the fantastic aromas which just don't translate to the palate, still a nice little wine. Drink by July 2014. 50% syrah & 50% mourvedre

Bright fun wine with strawberry notes and juicy tannins. A little simple so not the best for food pairings but fun to drink.

What's not to like for 9 bucks? A lively nose followed by a thin mouth feel with a nice balanced finish of fruit, tannin, oak.

Dark ruby; taste of plum, raisin, and some cassis, with tabac, rosemary and scrub. But also kind of faded overall--somewhat lacking in concentration.
