  • Smoky/earthy nose, with some dried red fruit notes. Full bodied with red and black fruit flavors and oaky notes. Tannins have moderated a bit, but they're still assertive on the way to a long finish. Drinking well now.

  • This RTW would be good with BBQ, pizza, or maybe a super hearty pasta. Sort of an earthy first impression on the nose, but that gives way to dried red fruit and brighter red fruit if you really dig. Punch of acid initially, but it evoked pomegranate for some reason. Some tobacco, cranberry, raspberry, and a hint of earth on the palate. The tannins provide good structure, but they're a bit heavy handed on the back end. Then again, what do you expect from this style of wine?
