We were afraid that it was well past it’s drinkability date but it held up with a mellowness that was surprising. Vanilla notes were creamy and delicious. We let it open for about an hour which helped some of the initial muddiness in the first taste. I can understand why it has been served at so many White House dinners over the decades.

PnP. Straw in the glass. Nose of honeysuckle and citrus follows through on the palate, along with some melon. Medium density and acidity. I would have preferred more acidity to stand this up. In the end, a bit disappointing for the $$. A solid wine, but not great QPR.

Citrus is dominant, grapefruit in particular. Maybe a little lemon as well. You can also taste fresh cut grass. It's good very good, but a little acidic for my taste.

Pop and Pour, chilled at refrigerator temp. Paired with lemon and soy marinated grilled yellowtail tuna, peas with mushrooms, green salad. Excellent fruit, balanced. Really like this stuff. Happy with this producer though not cheap.

Fathers Day wine from my wife, I found this initially somewhat muted but it really opened up by the end of the meal. Great extraction, american in style as you would expect, but nice balance and alcohol was not as noticeable as I thought it might be. Good stuff.

Still consistent with prior notes. Color is pale yellow. Scents are green apple and wet stone. Tastes are consistent with scents, plus a backbone of strong acidity, and on the back- end very green (melon?) tasting.

This is a complex full bodied wine. There were flavors of apricot with a little oak. The finish is a little hot so i wouldn't recommend this with any hot or spicy food.

Faint green grass on the nose. Fair acidity with hints of toast on the palate. Really veiled and not giving up much in the way of flavor. Rather dull for my preferences. Kind of hot on the back end. Ho-hum wine. Factor in price and say no thank you, unless it is free.
Popped and drunk. Nice sweet nose. Honey and honey sickle nose. light body. Nice stuff. Nice bubbly type flavors on the back. Lot of floral type flavor coming through. Very interesting stuff.

The 2012 Viognier has the usual Pride Mountain viognier nose: stone fruit and intense aromatics (though I don't know how some think there is starfruit on the nose here). The body of this wine, though, paled in comparison to 2011. I don't know the exact reason -- but the 2011 had was richer: had a "textured mouthfeel." The 2012 lacked that. Still a strong wine, but this either needs more time or it is slightly lower than the 2011.
(Note: I had the 2011 Viognier with some very good friends in June, and for context, we informally rated the 2011 at 91-92 points, slightly higher than WA's rating.)

Every year I buy a bunch of Pride Mt. Viognier and I think the previous year was better and I did the same thing this year a couple mouths ago but my initial notes were wrong this is an outstanding wine. Great notes on the nose but in the mouth the wine shines with tastes of honey, apples and a sweet honey finish. I don't know if I have ever tasted a better viognier I should send some to JF on their new house.

Very good Viognier but not quite up to the 2011 standard. My favorite Viognier from one of my favorite wineries this vintage doesn't have the level of fruit as last years but still has great aromas of peach and apple with peach, green apple, citrus, and minerals on the palate. The wine doesn't have the balance of last years wine but still worth seeking out.

Still one of my favorite Napa Viognier's. Nice floral, peach, nectarine, and citrus notes. Good minerality to it and long finish.
