Bright yellow. First fresh. A bit of fruit vanishes quickly and gives way to more balsamic notes like hay, wax. Fresh tree bark. First second better in the mouth with fresh acidity and a creamy mouthfeel. Turns quickly a bit unpleasant. Retronasal balsamic in the mouth which stays unpleasingly long. 13 vol alcohol are present. My wife denied drinking. Better on day 2. Unpleasant aromas are muted however acidity is down too.

A collector friend opened this with dinner tonight. Drank my very last bottle a few months back.....what luck! On nose and palate: balanced notes of citrus, oak, melon, roasted almonds, figs, and more firm acidity, and less barley sugar notes.....full bodied , elegant and still age worthy....a finish with notes of ginger and green peach.

So....4th and LAST bottle of this wine! On nose and palate: barley sugar, tart apple and lemon curd....as it warms up, ginger, roasted almonds, sea salt , and a dry floral character, on a rich, medium body braced with still clean present acidity....great with salmon or pasta Alfredo with cream sauce. PS: this wine is the same price as the underwhelming Cakebread Sauv Blanc 2020, recently tasted!

Bottle #3. Over a year since last tasted. On nose and palate: all flavours and nuances intact , with a slight softening of the acidity, the wine appears richer, without being heavy , or overly oaked. Notes of ginger, and a ghost of lilac flower enhance the complex notes of barley sugar , lemon and tart apple ...smoke and fresh pineapple , with a clean sea salt finish ....no hint of oxidation after 9 years....I have ONE more bottle.

The #2 bottle of this wine: Well.....over a year ago I reviewed a bottle of this property that was underwhelming....this isn't!. On nose: as before , notes of barley sugar , apple and meyer lemon. On palate : follow through of ALL above flavours , woven into subdued oak, notes of smoke, spiky , refreshing pineapple , lively minerality and a whisp of salted butter with lively acidity and a note of tangerine as it warms up after an hour in decanter....full flavoured with a good balance and a creamy richness .....can age for a few more years.

This is absolutely delicious. Honey pineapple and other yumminess. Some salinity and smokiness too. Mmmmm.

Nice floral and good dose of mineral.
Some gooseberry and kiwi fruit.
Would be very good when it has some weight in a few years time.

From 100% Sauvignon Blanc, the wine offers fresh lemon rind, lime and hints of tangerine, finishing with fresh citrus notes. 88-90 Pts
