  • This wine appears to have benefited from additional bottle age. On this occasion the wine gives more complete, detailed and accessible showing than the experience. This wines seems to be at or around its peak and should continue to give a very good showing in the coming years.

  • Opened and poured, this bottle gave a good showing and disappointed based on previous experiences with this wine. The aromatics are the highlight of the showing with earthy red cherry fruit, spice and tea leaf notes with some underlying herbal elements. The color is a tarnished medium ruby. The lean framed, medium bodied palate shows good overall balance with a short to medium length finish. Although good, the palate never develops enough features to leave a more compelling impression.

  • Opened and poured, this wine gave a very good to almost excellent showing. This wine gives a better overall impression than the 2011 Follin-Arbelet, Aloxe-Corton tasted the previous evening; however, it also shows some minor disjointed elements that detract from the overall impression and keep the wine from giving an excellent showing. This wine does drink well now for its youthful, forward fruit and it leaves the impression that it will benefit from additional bottle age.
