  • This wine was held too long. Nevertheless, there was still enough fruit to make the experience pleasant. A weird and wonderful blend of red and white grapes that makes for a great summer afternoon.

  • My short-hand, because I know for myself what it means, is "elegantly rustic luncheon wine". In terms of body, "light" is the original impression, with a surprisingly strong finish given the initial front-end impression. Still drinking quite well, CT drinking window notwithstanding. Good fruit / acidity balance. Previous reviewer makes a good point - this would probably be even better slightly chilled (emphasis on "slightly").

  • Green tobacco aroma, light cherry taste, great lightly chilled

  • It may be the perfect summer quaff. Am I geeking out over it? No. It's not challenging me in any way. There's something to be said for delicious though. This is delicious.

  • Another fizz-free bottle, which allowed it to show its gentle, rosé-like richness and intrigue. Still a fan.

  • Strawberry accents in the nose. A little cherry plus strawberry flavors. Has a long, lingering finish. Best served a little chilled.

  • Similar to last year's bottling. I served this one somewhat chilled, so it came across a bit like a rose, albeit one with a ton of backbone. Excellent persistency of fruit and good acidic balance. Does not come across as heavy at all, but there is a power to it. If last year was any indication, this will be even better on Day 2, in the event it lasts that long.

  • Another bottle with minimally-discernible fizz but that so quickly segued into the great zippy acidity that is a benchmark of these fresh wines. Drank over two days...thoroughly enjoyed and lost nothing on day 2.
Oh, by the way, the winery got back to me and literally offered "to do anything they can to make me satisfied." The tasting experience, that level of dedication to me as a customer, and their impressionable lineup of wines is what makes me satisfied. I discovered them about 6-8 yrs ago and though it took me a while to return, I'm a fan!

  • PnP. Light ruby in the glass. Nose of funk, cherries, and raspberries. On the palate, an almost spritzy blend of deep red fruits and bitter citrus. Nice acidity leaves the palate clean. Good length. A solid wine for the price, though not necessarily a thinker.

  • This was the second bottle; the first clearly flawed and drank at dinner, just 2-3 hours after leaving the winery with nearly a case. That first was significantly effervescent, with a noticeable yeasty smell (likely unresolved CO2; perhaps either unfinished or possibly re-fermenting?). Panicked when this second bottle had the similar fizziness though, this time, blowing off after less than 20 or so minutes. What was left was a wine much more reminiscent of that, which we were so impressed with at the winery. Nice, light, bright raspberry red in color, with similar aromatics of bright red berries with some floral notes. The flavors continued along those lines but it was the bright acidity and a certain richness in the finish, which had me challenged to put the glass down. Compelling...no, addicting!
Now, what to do about the effervescence? I've written the winery but have yet to hear back...
    (85pts. at this stage, anyway)

  • Enjoyable wine. Light ruby very clear. Muted nose. Almost masked by an oaky character but doubting this has any oak on it. Reminds me of a lighter version of the bedrock kirchimen. Fresh tasting, red fruits, has some weight, grapefruits, lote but persistent tannin, and a little heat on the finish. As someone mentioned previously, a great pairing for thanksgiving dinner.

  • Not quite as enjoyable as past years' P2s. There's a lot more candied fruit and a very perfumy nose compared to what I recall from past years, and it's missing some of the zingy acidity that marked the 2011 and 2012. Still a very enjoyable summertime, lighthearted wine.

  • An odd experiment. It's 50:50 Pinot noir and gris. Ends up being closer to a Teutonic like offering, but was served chilled. Improved a bit with warming (served chilled), but really not meant to be drunk north of 60 degrees. A bit of a juicier, riper rose. Patio pounder indeed.

  • I love this wine for what it is, different, refreshing.
