Wonderfully fruity nose belies the dryness of the wine. Drank over 2 days. Better on the second day. Need a long decant to soften the tanins. Could stand a few more years in the cellar. Agree with JLP - chewy some spice.

Dusty, black fruit, complexity towards the middle, really well integrated and subdued... probably would have called it a left bank Bordeaux if tasted blind except maybe for the softness of the tannins... overall a nice CA Cab that even a pretentious hipster wine aficionado (like myself I guess) can appreciate.

Rather disappointed; rich tannins , nice spiciness and lots of dried fruit, but then... nothing. No fruitiness, no real depth. Decanted, but it didn't develop much after that. Feels like aging wouldn't hurt, but I'm not convinced it would introduce a new dimension either. So for the price, it's a bust. Drinkable enough, though.

Dark, opaque, and dusty. Nose is pleasant but only moderately complex. Currant over everything else with dry dusty earth on the mid and through the finish. Plenty of bramble herb notes also. Mouth feel is a bit flabby. Tannins are med. Acidity a bit low.

Big acidity. Big and dark wine. Needs time to relax in my opinion. Touch of heat. Aromas of blackberry, currant and dried lavender. Flavors of blackberry, dark chocolate and espresso.

Blind Tasting - California Reds: Dark purple color. Plummy on the nose, currant jam, earth, violets, roses, vanilla and caramel. Incredibly complex nose that evolves a lot. Silky on the palate with fine tannins, beautiful structure and medium acid. Loads of pure berry fruit, along with vanilla bean, coffee, violets, bell pepper and crème brulee. Absolutely delicious, showing some elegance, but I think this is built to last as well. 18 months in 45% new French oak.

Earthy, bitter sweet cocoa is the dominant flavor. Minimal tannins, sour cherry.

Needs a long decant to soften the tannins. Wonderful cab from Gunlach, as can be expected. Love this

Long decant, chewy with some spice. Nice, but short finish

Probably needs another couple years to bring out some of the fruit. Dry and spicy right now and enjoyable, but I think it needs time to round out.

Very nice cab. Deep fruit and good structure. Will benefit from a couple more years in the bottle to soften up a touch.
