Took 90 mins or so to open up but when it did it was very pleasant, and a little surprisingly one of the better wines from this producer, considering the vintage was not known as a good one. Very dark ruby in color and early on had a little funk on the nose, but that dissipated in time, and turned into a very nice example of Sangiovese with some depth and lots of warmth to it.

Such a great wine, I guess this one was ready! Nose was amazingly perfumed with vanilla and sweet wood and the palate was perfectly balanced throughout. Medium bodied and not overdone but pretty close to a perfect expression of the region for me.

Bright crimson core bricking outward, with a cherry, leather, and wet foliage bouquet that's permeated by a sweet, singed undercurrent. Long, mid-to-full bodied, and well integrated in a lithe texture that's enlivened by beautiful red fruit flavors, perfect balance, and grippy but gentle tannins. Focused, expressive, and tantalizing. Stays with you for a while.

Dry on the palate but sweet tannins with pretty vanilla and cedar.

Great Brunello nose and color but not even close to being ready. Give this one another 3-5 years at least.
