Had some reduction on the nose that needed time to blow off. Still rather firm. Has a nice Asian spice nose and concentrated black cherry notes with some hints of maturity. Shows a little austerity on the finish. Nice Pinot but would probably hold another 5yrs if possible.

Terroir-istes International - France, Burgundy, Vosne-Romanee (Overgaauw Wine Estate): (Tasted Blind): Mid-garnet colour with an intense bouquet showing perfumed notes (jumps out of the glass) of blood orange, green plum, wet granite stone, oak spices and blackcurrant. A delicate enveloping entry, the wine feels seamless yet has a hidden muscular frame of fine-grained sandy tannins. Fragrant with ripe plum, fresh earth and black fruits, there is excellent depth and concentration of flavour balanced by a tight, bracing acidity, giving tightness and purity to the core. Subtle toasty oak adds complexity and layers. There is a sinewy sensation on the long finish. A little tight at the moment?

Cumin, leather, crushed flowers, plums, underbrush. Great balance with acidity, and the tannins have mellowed to a pleasant position. Great drinking now!
