Big fruit, spice, herbal notes, pepper, leather, hints of eucalyptus, finishes with some oak. Tannins are smooth. This is still big wine, quintessential bowel mountain. Definitely would cellar another 10 years!!!

One of the best SVD Beringer I've had in a while. It says everything from dark roasted black and blue fruits on the nose and entry. Mulling spices, chocolate, Espresso bean. Very dense. Tannin has resolved slightly, giving a little more depth and roasted character and black pepper spice to the finish. Gonna seek out more of these SVD Beringer Cabs. The prices for current releases are a little bit unrealistic IMO, but these can be found on the secondary market for extremely competitive prices.

2000th rating, and a rather nice one to rate. This wine is beautiful on the third day, and just starting to show some of its classic vanilla wafer, blueberry and herbal core. Lots of blue fruit and vanilla here. Nose has more of a tar and black fruit note, but the palate is a bit different. This wine is kind of in a strange place tonight, but still went great with dinner. The best years of this wine's life is ahead of it. 2017-2027

Black fruit aromatics emerge from the glass at pouring. First flavors of the wine also has hints of lead pencil. The palette is slightly closed and has a peppery start which gives way to blackberry fruit. The wine is youthful and could certainly improve but it was really pleasing tonight.

While young, there is a lot of fruit, berries and plum. Open early to determine if heat damaged. Fortunately, it was very, very good, but I would like some more aging.

Winery tasting. Big aromas of ripe plum, vanilla, and dark berries. Similar on the palate, but showing some added tobacco and earthy notes at mid-palate. Rounded tannic structure for a young wine and the complexity makes it very approachable. Strong finish.

Blackberries, cherries, blueberries, tobacco, spice, little minerality, supple tannins which balance the fruit, good mouth feel, the smokey oak is well integrated. A/A-

Excellent wine. Took to NYC and paired with a dry-aged, bone-in ribeye at a landmark steakhouse.
