Hang on to your socks on this - even after 30 mins - this is a full on heavy hitter with fruit and a tad harsh on the etoh. Nice though. Needs time in bottle to mature at least 1yr more if you hope for a more subtle wine here, in my opinion (maybe 2 yrs). Nose is really rich with dark sweet fruit. Palate has tart tannin/acid that is coating. Fruit is lush with tart blackberry/currants/plums. Transitions to a long sweet finish of ripe dark cherry fruit with a touch of smoke. Big, juicy, almost off dry and needs big food. Will hold till Winter 2014 at least.
