  • 3 hour decant prior to drinking. Ruby garnet, slight bricking around the hue. fruit driven Cabernet, typical cassis, black current, dark berries, with hints of graphite and pencil shaving. It is all very upfront, with fine dissolving tannins at the back, short finish unfortunately. We all know 11 was a rough year, I think the charm this wine has is the upfront fruit, would question the point in cellaring this further given it currently has no back end. I’ll drink my remaining two sooner rather than later.

  • Purchased last year at auction and sitting in my cellar for almost 18 months. Dark red through to the edges, medium bodied, bouquet of fruit, eucalypt and background oak. Fresh and spritely on the palette, layers of red and dark berries intertwined with light mint and eucalypt. Wood tannins and acid all working together (some might think the acid a little high but certainly not "lemon zingy"). Very pleasing and likely to cellar and mellow for another 5+ years.

  • Popped and poured, no decant time. A little closed, soft notes of red fruits, eucalyptus and graphite. Redcurrant, blackcurrant, chalky tannins and a little puckering but a decent length. This is slightly imbalanced at the moment, but a solid effort for 2011 and time in the decanter will benefit this. Quite enjoyed this actually. Try again 2020.
