My last bottle. A touch past it’s prime. Todd thought it smelled off. Jaime found enjoyment in its 16.6%. Black pepper, meat, dark berries, mushrooms. Dense and viscous.
This astonishingly smooth right out of the bottle for the usually deep and slowly evolving babylons. The entire palate is softer, the nose is there, even the tanins and spices, but they are all muted, in the distance. Excellent.

After a night of lower alcohol, older, Italian wines, this was the unplanned closer. It held it's own and some modern wine lovers preferred it. Still excellent on day two. Tannins still massive but in control. Alcohol is intense but a great nose of blackberry, red meat and ?? The wine is viscous and tart.

A big wine but balanced and drinking well now. Dark, brooding aromas of every black fruit you can name, grilled meat and earth. The palate is also full of dark fruit, concentrated but not jammy. This Babylon also shows a strong meatiness and rounds out with earth and fennel. Medium acidity and strong tannins, both of which are integrating add a nice balance. This does not taste like its abv should be 16.5+%. Certainly drinking well now and should continue to do so through at least its 10th birthday.
