I disliked this on PNP and really misjudged it assuming it was meant for immediate drinking. After a few hours of air it improved substantially, and lasted for several days under vacuum. Blackberry, cherry, vanilla oak, and nice perfume on the nose.

Nose of candied fruit, root beer, and rhubarb. Palate shows bold, fragrant, candied fruit: rhubarb and cola, with oaky notes of vanilla and whisky. Friendly, approachable.

I wasn't impressed. Can't wait for the Bramare I have left though... I brought this back from AR. Probably wouldn't buy again here, there are better Malbecs in the $10-$20 range.

Finished dead last in a cross varietal wine tasting event against 12 other bottles over the weekend. Hot fruit on the nose and in the mouth. Tasted dead for the most part with one taster stating that the only flavor they could get from this wine was "grape?". Boozy and out of balance with grinding oakiness and crude tannins. Reminds me of how Malbec can go wrong. No reason to drink more myself but could see how some might find this a decent low cost bottle to keep around their trailer.

93/4/3 Malbec/Cab Sauv/Merlot. 8 months in French and American oak. Vineyards at 2000' plus altitude. Nose pretty standard black fruit, red fruit, some brambly qualities, so say blackberry. Baking spices there too. Palate is pretty big profile up front, some blueberry, black plum, light pepper in the tannins, dark cherry. Finish of short length. Acidity medium.

update: really need to sit and open. Completely changed after a couple days. Lost the sharpness and balanced out.

This wine has not stood the test of time. After six years it is porty and bitter/sharp. Bloody horrible.

Paul Hobbs Malbec... not the high test... but quite elegant in its price point

Well balanced earth/dark berry flavors with well integrated tannins. Very good for the price.

Some blueberry and plum , soft tannins and pleasant - decanted for an hour . For tastes that accept powerful wine.

Very bold for a Malbec. Got better after multiple sips and even the next day. We paid $20 and I don't think it was worth that. Maybe $12-15 tops.

Not an interesting wine in any way. Flat nose, flat taste. Open early; was a bit better after 1h30 in a carafe.

Really nice Malbec. Blackberry fruit. Some strong acidity and mildly strong tannins through off the balnce and keep it from from the greatness.

Blackberry, and cassis in the nose, showing more fruit than structure at this point on the palate. At this point a very easy drinking everyday wine.

Delicious. Fun, easy drinking red wine. Sweet black fruit, nice texture - not complex but not simple. Lots of sweet oak and a solid finish. Great QPR.
