Had among several 2012 AP Vin's. Boy do I miss Andrew and his wines. Going to buy as many as I can find in various auctions. This was 2nd to the Rosella's vineyard for WOTN.
Having written on this wine in the past, I get more slightly rotted strawberry in the fruit profile like I saw in two other AP Vins tonight.
Tremendous expression of the PN fruit and second best wine tonight, to the Rosella's vineyard. The acidity is totally resolved and the sweet fruits completely take over. Lovely !!!
Big, ripe, raspberry and black cherry fruit. Cola and a little Pinot funk hiding under the hammer. As someone else said, this is a full throttle Pinot. Light on the acidity, and relatively short finish. Much better before dinner than with it.
10/9/2019 Ditto
7/22/2020 Finish seemed much longer now, maybe just that some of the forwardness of everything else has mellowed and so the whole frame of reference is different. Wish I had another bottle or two.

Great wine. Wild berry, strawberry, and plum fruit followed by a very nice creamy texture of caramel, cola, and Asian five spice. Wonderful acidity on this wine and a beautiful long finish.

Drank with Cathy and Ann in Bayfield. Nice, round, medium bodied with lots of fruit and not too acidic. Started as cocktail, drank with baby back ribs. Drink anytime.

Consistent notes with previous bottle. Oak showed through a bit more this time but there is just so much ripe fruit to go around with juicy acidity that it isn't overbearing. Overall probably a bit too full throttle for pinot, at least for my palate, but many would really love this wine.

Quick half hour decant. Dark red fruit, tart cherry, strawberry, cola, black pepper, herbes du Provence, and a mineral core. Pretty full bodied for a Pinot.

Outstanding Pinot. Big, robust wine, with cherries, strawberries, cola on the nose. Great mouthfeel and long, long finish. Absolutely delicious. My wife LOVED it and she's generally not a big Pinot fan. So sad when it was gone. Had at the Tavern in Libertyville, IL.

Popped and splash decanted. Medium ruby color with a dark core. Big nose of black cherry, dark raspberry, five spice, and a hint of oak. Similar flavors on the palate with a very rich, ripe red fruit flavor profile with some spicy oak flavors on the back end. Good acidity, medium to full bodied with a slightly creamy texture and a long finish. This is on the riper side of pinot for me but this wine is balanced and drank very well for a reported 15.1% abv pinot. Will let my remaining bottle age a couple of years since I think there is some baby fat to shed.

Trully wonderful wine at this age. Aromatics are mild but very much alive. I get berry, slightly rotted strawberry and earthy mushroom. Fabulous !!
