Prime window. Paired with grilled flank steak and it stood up strongly. This has a little cellar time left but for no reason. If you want it, drink it.

Fabulous nose - dark red fruits. Not sweet, more like raspberries and ripe dark cherries. Flavor was very similar; with the addition of a whiff of dark chocolate. Great color - vibrant. This wine proved once again that we all need to drink what we enjoy. Of the four of us, two preferred this TH 46 over a 1998 Howell Mountain cab. Me - I liked the TH, but the 1998 Neal cabernet (his first vintage - btw) was soooo deep and rich!

On the nose, grilled meats and dark fruits. On the palette, silky and dryer than the nose suggests with a with a surprising underlying minerality to accompany the fruit and a spicy finish to boot. 2011 was a cooler vintage for Paso, but what this wine lost in concentration and ripeness, it made up for in elegance and balance.

Decanted for 12 hours before tasting. Grenache on the front with raspberry / cocoa notes leading into meaty syrah on the back. Oak is apparent but integrating nicely. A soft-handed, assured approach, I usually find these wines quite appealing.

Pop and pour. Dark purple color. Nose of blackberry compote and toasty oak, slightly reductive. Tasty, lithe black and blue fruit, pomegranate seed. Some lift, but oaken tannin are strong here. For the vintage, a good effort, and should probably be left alone for a year and consumed in the following 2-3 years after.

Decanted 1.5 hr. Nice dark fruit nose. Big, well-balanced, smooth, consistent dark fruit tastes.

Strawberry, slight white pepper on the nose. Sour cherry, tree fruits on the palate. Overall crowd pleaser.

seems like a typically structured syrah/grenach blend, better after about an hour
