Fantastic dry Riesling. Rich peach flavor without the sweetness, just a touch of honey. Great depth and precision. Medium body, tart acidity with lemon zest, limestone, petrol, and some grassy notes. Exceptionally long, zesty finish with some aromatic herbal notes. May be at its peak now.

Pop and pour yesterday. Lieser Niederberg-Helden, though iy doesn't appear on the front of the label. So good. On the nose: peach, leafy green. melon, lime, wet stone. On the palate: a touch of honey, loads of guava, sweet peach, and pink grapefruit, with a nice mineral backbone. Long, juicy finish. With couscous and harissa chickpeas. Yum.

Light gold. Honey, golden raisins, nectarines, petrol on the nose. Off dry, lovely balance and spread on the palate, crisp, vibrant and rich, medium bodied in a bright acid frame that contains the sweetness, very long finish. Intense sweet concentration at the back. Really delicious.

I just love this label, outstanding from vintage to vintage. I did a very detailed note back in April 2020; this continues to develop. Shows a rich texture; a variety of pronounced fruit clusters (tart green citrus, ripe white stone fruits, and juicy orchard yellow fruits); petrol and mineral complexity; and a wonderful acidic backbone. Laser focused. Ends very long and fresh. Seems to have enough presence to age for another 5+ years. Excellent.

This was great! A Garagiste bottle that lives up to the hype! Tropical fruit, lemon, and a richness that isn't usually found in a German Riesling. The dry Spatlese is a fantastic idea and this was really well executed.

ok wine, not too sweet, big acidic spine, went ok w/spicy Thai. Nothing memorable, wouldn't buy again. (85 = top of Good range). Recorked it and left it in the fridge for 3 days and it massively improved. The acids softened considerably. Now at an 89.

I’ve enjoyed a number of prior vintages of this producer’s Kabinett and Spatlese Trocken Rieslings; the Spatlese is a big step up from the Kabinett. The color is a much deeper lemon, versus a pale lemon green for the Kabinett. The body is medium plus and more viscous than the lighter bodied Kabinett. Aromatically, the expected petrol is notable; with much riper fruits: apricot, peach, red apple, and nectarine with the tangy lime underneath; the Kabinett showed more citrus and green fruits. Lots of terroir driven wet, salty slate in both versions. This comes across as fuller and deeper, with wonderful, fresh and crisp acidity to balance the riper fruit. Extremely long finish. Outstanding balance, focused intensity, developing complexity, and lots of length. Should continue to develop with additional cellaring. Recommend not drinking too cold in order to allow the aromatics and flavors to show. I love this, but the 2015 version was slightly better.

I just finished a '17 Pierre Boisson BB, so that's important for the comparison. This is absolutely lovely. On the nose: a touch of cotton candy, then sweet and sour apple and peach, a hint of spritziness. On the palate, intense acidity, soft peach, good density and a nice clean finish. No petrol notes, but texturally this is all there.

Intense aromas of currants, camphor, and white flowers. On the palate a rich dose of aromatic fruit with a green tea character, a lingering acidity, floral raisin notes at the back. It would be a perfect accompaniment to turkey and mushrooms, even that’s not what we are eating tonight. 50 + 18 + 17 + 8 = 93.

enjoyable. dry, good, strongish acidity. The ice cold bottle went very quickly at 90 degree heat.... but I had a few other Rieslings this week from Haag and Prum, and I have to admit they were more interesting (also more expensive).
I actually think this wine would do better with food (spicy Asian?) than drink alone. Properly paired, it may go from 89/90 to 92+

Even less gentle that the already-a-bit-rough kabinett, this one was a surprise (it's a dry Riesling from a late harvest). Needs decant. Perfect for people who look for something a bit different in the wines from grapes they already know so well. Great with food and on its own. Will definitely get more bottles.

Drinking this wine is like drinking sweet mineral water with a splash of citrus and apple fruit. I really liked it a lot. This not a typical Riesling as I understand them. It is an aptly named trocken. It's almost an oxymoron to describe this wine as a sweet dry wine.
A dry Spätlese that is unfortunately not dry enough to pair with shellfish... bummer. So I vacuum corked it and opened a Chablis instead. On the next day it seemed a bit fatigued, or at least terribly understated and burdened by its low acidity levels. On the third day it remained equally unimpressive. ... On the fifth day however it was still holding strong, surprisingly so, showing little signs of breaking down, and exhibiting a floral bouquet of jasmine tea and yellow flowers, and slightly honeyed palate notes marked by understated citrus, lime, a bit of salt, and perhaps also hints of unripe peaches. All in all, while I can't say it's a wine I'd buy again, it's certainly one I wouldn't mind revisiting.

Light-to-medium-bodied at first, with zesty notes of citrus and lemon rind, and medium-high minerality; it then began opening up after 30 minutes revealing intriguing notes of grassy peat (think marshes...), and gaining more weight (medium-bodied thus). Then after 60 minutes there was a new layer of honey added to the mix on the palate, while the bouquet seemed to be fading away. The acidity is medium-high, making it a very versatile food wine. 13% ABV. 91-92 points
