A tremendous bottle. This is less about the fruit and more about the secondary flavors. The nose is quite floral and the palate is quite spicy. There is some red fruit in both, but it is quite in the background. Well balanced with crisp acidity and a long finish. Delightful.

Pretty if somewhat subdued. Red berry fruit, tea, forest, some light mineral flavors, a bit of smoke on the nose. Well balanced and long. Seemed to be holding back.

Wow. This bottle was fantastic! The nose is quite strong (red fruit, smoke, christmas) and absolutely beautiful - intoxicating in fact. It tastes good too! More of the same, with some black pepper too and the red fruit tending towards something that reminds me of raspberries (which strikes me as a little unusual). The finish is quite long.
I liked the bottle I had in April but the notes from that make me think I didn't like it nearly as much as I like this bottle. This was really quite outstanding!

Drank at restaurant for$78 on wine list. Light color, opened up as we drank, good balance with some complexity, good fruit with medium body, a crowd pleaser, drank with lamb chops, would drink again, a bit pricey at testily not a bad price for a wine list.

I was a huge fan of the Nuthouse series for many years but drifted away starting around the 2008 vintage. I felt like Argyle was spending more time on the sparking wines than their signature Pinot Noir.
The 12 is moving back towards their core with bright cherry fruits commingled with cranberry and Oregon earth. This vintage is well balanced and delivering a good Pinot profile.

Sourced entirely from the Lone Star Vineyard, the 2012 Argle Nuthouse Pinot Noir flaunts the beauty of the Willamette Valley's 2012 vintage with this medium-ruby, medium-bodied offering. The nose is effusive of wild red berries, white flowers, orange zest and pickling spice. Similar flavors characterize the palate, which is supported by fresh acidity, medium silky tannins and seamless alcohol (listed as 13.5%). Solid in the middle and concluding with a long, crisp finish, this is nothing short of outstanding in quality. Showcasing the Eola-Amity Hills goût de terroir, this impressive offering is now just entering its drinking window. Bravo to Argyle for crafting such a gem, which is definitely Burgundian in style. Drink now-2022.

This is one of my first 2012 Oregon Pinots, and though very young, quite approachable right now with a good decant (2 hours here). In fact, one of the more impressive Pinots I've had all year. Paired with cedar-plank salmon off the grill and the usual summer potluck sides on a muggy evening. Dark violet, ruby color. Nose is somewhat muted, but I got some lovely garden raspberries, rhubarb, hints of mint, and some scattered eucalyptus notes. The palate is medium-to-full yet delicate and graceful, flowing with bright cherries, strawberries, more raspberries, lush, textured fruit punch, watermelon, and puckery lemon zest. The finish is still tight and very acidic, so probably best 2017-2022. Lovely wine.

Nose promises nice quality ahead, balance of cherry layers, mineral. Palate says a lot, cherry layers, molasses, red dust, balsamic, light vanilla, some sweet spice. There's more to talk about here, just a taste for me, but a full bottle would speak to you for a while.

A very nice bottle. Lots of earth and spice, red berry fruit, nice acidity but it makes it a little sharper than smooth.

Very nice. Popped, er, unscrewed, and poured. Nice right away. Red fruits, some smoke, some black pepper, and forest floor. Robust acidity.

Red fruits, juicy acidity, herbs/spices, nutty oak (oak is quite evident but not over the top).

A Day in the Willamette Valley (Willamette Valley, OR): Spice and orange peel. Lightweight palate, with red cherry fruit. Finishes with fine tannin. Simple and pleasant.

World of Pinot Noir Grand Tasting (Bacara - Goleta CA): Tasting, brief note. Slightly floral with red and black cherry once again. Lush and forward, but with enough structure for good overall balance.
