Light gold in color. Moderate citrus notes, bright acidity and an extended smooth finish are the highlights. Last of 5 bottles from the 2012 vintage and still a very good bottle of wine.

Nice clean, crisp Chardonnay; notes of citrus (pineapple) and baking spice with a smooth and refined finish. A bit more fruit and a touch less minerality compared to the Winderlea chardonnays of earlier vintages. Served with Cajun shrimp sautéed in butter, roasted Brussels sprouts with za’atar, and a rosemary and olive oil wild rice. The balance of the wine enabled it to highlight each item on the plate.

First of five bottles of Winderlea's 2012- first notice is that the wine is closer in style to a Sonoma chard than most of Winderlea's earlier vintages- more fruit-forward and noticeable oak. Less mineral-driven than prior vintages. Very enjoyable, but will probably hold the remaining bottles for a while to let all of the components integrate. Right now, toasty vanilla and crispy apple are the primary flavors. Lingering, smooth finish.

I would have guessed that this saw significant time in new French oak, though the winery notes indicate that no new oak was used. Still, oak predominates the palate initially though a good dose of apple and pear fruit does eventually come through. I'm not sure this is quite my style and I got tired of drinking it halfway through the second glass, but it does seem to be well made.

Spicy nose of ripe Asian pear. Round and lush in the mouth, with gentle oak, great minerality, and nice acid on the moderate-long finish. Good now and for 5+ more years.

Drank the last of 5 bottles, still vibrant. Similar profile to prior notes, clearly not past prime.

Lots of different fruit notes - melon, apple and lemon. For all its flavor, it's really graceful and understated.
