Been cellared a long time. Might open up more with additional decanting. Very smooth with not a lot of staying power. Should have drank it a few years ago.

Intensely dark but clear. Spicy blueberry nose. Full bodied, blackberries, tart black cherries, pepper, slightly bitter tannins, smoke, and a dry medium length finish. Better on night 2.

Oak is so pervasive, that for me, it dilutes any other aroma or taste. This was the second time I have tried this wine, and the second time I reached the same.conclusion.

Deep, opaque purple, peaty nose, big, bold cherry and blackberry. Lots of tannin, but reasonable acidity. Give it a couple of hours to open up if you want more fruit attack. I'm diggin' this combination...buying more tomorrow.

Intense, dark Bing cherry and blackberry. Rich taste with a bit of structure. Needs some time to open and deliver its full potential. Definitely looking forward to enjoying the next bottle in the cellar.

Dark opaque purple. Juicy and full bodied, ample tannins. Plum flavors dominate, even a touch one dimensional, but I enjoy this style of wine quite a bit. Worth a try

There's a consistent oak note across the wine from the nose through the finish. Not very distinctive or interesting. Seems manufactured. Deep color and fruit forward blueberry and blackberry. Easy pass as there are better petite sirah alternatives out there.

Great color that looks almost exactly like concord grape juice including the purple bubbles. Smokey oak and dark fruit throughout with a hint of roses. This wine is overpriced in general and especially for $18 at the store I bought it from. There are plenty of wines like this for $12.

Decanted for almost an hour. Smoky nose with hints of bacon. This whimsical Michael-David offering is full of character with cedar notes and smoky dark fruits that slide into a lingering finish of spice. Although a petit syrah and verdot blend, it has a similar profile to their popular Seven Deadly Zins. Yet again, this winery shines with another wine with great QPR and spunk.

Don't drink right away for sure. Give it plenty of time to breathe. But it opens up very nicely - dark fruits balanced with hints of vanilla.

For the money I thought this was solid. Not overpowering and the alcohol is in check. Good fruit. Not drop dead amazing but a very solid weekday wine.

Decanted/Vinturi'd. Meaty. Smoky, bacon-y. Slightly sweet nose. Some nice dark fruit in there among all the meat.

This is an excellent petite blend, and an all around outstanding wine - especially at this price point (~13-15/bottle). It has become our "house" red.
