Rather underwhelming for the price - a common issue, for me at least, with Patz and Hall. Wine was initially closed, harsh, and bitter. It improved markedly after it had been open for about 90-120 mins. In a dumb phase? Reasonable acidity, ample red and black fruits. But not exactly complex or particularly interesting - rather generic, in all dimensions, but at a price point where one can find very good PNs.

Medium weight with good acidity. Dark cherries and spices mingle nicely with a good base of minerality. Balanced and elegant. A total turn on to enjoy with pecan encrusted trout.

Wonderful aromas of Strawberry jam, flowers, red berries, and cloves. The palate is fruit forward yet offers balanced acidity and flavors of cherry, cranberry, spice, and herb. Medium tannins and a medium finish this pairs excellently with food.

Nice Pinot in a textbook RRV style (cherry, cola, baking spices), albeit a bit more tannic and fuller bodied than is usual. Structure, tannins, and acidity all suggest that this will age well.

The nose showed red berry and lovely floral perfumes, then turning more to crushed raspberry, savory reduction, wild herbs and minerals. On the palate, the textures were firm with a vein of brisk acidity ushering in tart berry, herbs and spice. It finished fresh, juicy and balanced. Tasting this next to Hyde was an interesting contrast, it the Chenoweth showed the bright, floral and exotic side of Patz & Hall, while the Hyde brought all the dark fruit and richness. They are both beautiful wines.

Third opportunity to have this wine over the last 18 months; second vintage. Consistent flavor profile and similar to the 2011 vintage; however, this tends to be juicier and more fruit forward in a traditional and classic CA style pinot, the 2011 seemed to be earthier and lighter in style. Develops in the decanter and glass as it aerates. Dry, with a slightly tart finish. This is very good, but I enjoyed the complexity of the 2011 slightly better.

Very enjoyable. My experience is similar to other notes. Cherry notes up front and more tannic than I'd expect from a Pinot. Definitely on the spicy side. Opened up quite a bit through the evening. I think this will only improve with a bit of age. I would buy more.

Ripe, black cherry cola aroma. Rich, ripe, red fruit with hints of vanilla up front. Lush, pleasant mouth feel. Bright red fruit yielding to some nice earthy, gamey notes in the middle. Youthful but soft ripe tannins and zesty acidity on the finish. A substantial Sonoma Coast Pinot that should benefit from a year or 2 in the cellar to fully integrate the components.

Very pure fruit and on the red side but with darker characteristics and integrated with some nice earthy notes. Very nice medium body and good grip. Very nice fle gut of finish and well integrated oak is noticeable. This does need time to show all of its layers.

Better than previous bottle. Reasonable balance, not too alcoholic, esp. enjoyable on the nose. Classic CA PN, if a bit big and cumbersome.

Aerated and decanted 45 minutes.
Lots of black fruit, especially black cherry. Moderate plus tannin. Definitely a food wine.

Pleasing spice and red fruit (strawberry and cherry) - needs a little time
