Classic syrah/shiraz nose with plenty of pepper, raw meat, smoke and dark fruit. A powerful wine with smokey, meaty character, plenty of balanced fruit and good acidity. Long aftertaste. I read some notes that it may be mistaken for a northern Rhone, but I disagree. While the fruit is fairly cool in style, there is still a lot of it and in combination with the high alcohol (14.5%) I would never guess France. Requires some bbq meat or similar. A lot of stuff going on in the glass, but it is also quite young at present. Was better on day 2, and will likely get better with a few more years in the cellar.

Lovely and intense wine with loads of pepper, ceder and lively red and black fruit. This reminds of a really good wine from northern Rhône, but better than most.

Heavy duty Syrah profile on the nose, with white pepper, smoke, deep raspberry fruit, as well as quality oak mocha and chocolate. Just a shade of greenness too, that I attribute to the Cab in the blend. Peppery on the palate, full bodied, juicy, a hint of CO2 spritz. Finishes well but not as convincingly long as the palate would suggest.

White pepper galore on top of CS fruit. I first decided CS (40%) then changed my vote to Syrah (60%). Syrah clearly dominates (today) and there is a precise character and tight structure in this wine. Precisely what makes me love Hermitage and Cornas.
Has a long and beautiful life ahead! QPR is a winner here!

Strong wine. Medium+ body, medium+ acidity. Shiraz nose. Needs food. Will stay till 2025.

¤FW - Mistaken easily for a high end Côte-Rôtie. Peppers in bonanza and great structure.
