  • A little past peak, but very enjoyable.

  • Lots of black cherry, touch of blackberry, a bit of cola. Not exactly thin in the mouth, but nowhere near plush. Good acidity to go with our brisket. Pretty red color, and a hint of brick at the edge. Acacia has been hit-and-miss lately, but this one reminds of why I like Carneros Pinots.

  • 14.1% alcohol. This is a nice wine. Light red color, clear at the rim of the glass. Pretty bouquet of flowers and black cherries. Distinctly Carneros in texture and sensibility, with a darker fruit profile, revealing a touch of plum to it. Texturally a very nice wine, but there is something lacking on the palate. It is pleasant and tasty to drink, but I feel like there's just a hole running down the middle of the wine. This is kind of the Krispy Kreme of wine. I'd much prefer a wine that is like, as the Zen philosopher Basho once said, a danish ... the donut with no hole. B
