Hmmm... volatile acidity and a few other funky-in-a-bad-way things (flaws?) going on with this wine-- definitely one of the more unpleasant natural wines I've had. I wonder if it just didn't age well.

Lavender, dark honey, apricot, blueberry, kiwi-seed, prune, rosepetal, etc... Truly complex noses cover both white and red elements. Attack is so clean and seamless like rose wine. Finishes with velvetty but tranaparent sweet tannin. Amazingly bright, conveying directly the original fruit of the extraordinary quality grape.

Another fantastic bottle of this wine. Not complex or thought provoking, but just a pleasure to drink. This might add some nuance with age, but I'm not sure how long my remaining bottles are going to last...

Decanted 90 mins. ahead. Very dark garnet color with a rusty tinge. Nice nose of black pepper, cherries, bread. Firm on the palate, with iron notes and tart cherry flavors. Finishes with lots of tannins. This wine is def. interesting now, but it's youthful. Needs time. Maybe lots of time.

syrah with a syruppy component that smooths out somewhat. Very fruity and shallow compared to Saranine Cote Rotie although it drank well, had a very nice finish and taste.

Sight: Medium Ruby Nose: Reminiscent of old school CDP (Usseglio, etc), Raspberry jam, earth, stone. Palate: Strawberry Puree, Fennel, Dried herbs. Slightly spicy. Full bodied but vibrant and sprightly.

Layered, complex, balanced. Should age very well, but is certainly enjoyable right now. Vaguely reminiscent of Edmunds St. John.
