  • A magnificent Pommard. Excellent balance between fruit and acid. A lively ride from front to back with a long finish.

  • Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of light ruby color, with fading rims and legs.
Nose: Clean, with medium intensity aromas of red fruit of cherries and plum, black fruit of blackberry, mineral notes of earth, floral notes of violet, sweet spice of clove, maturity notes of gamey. The wine is developing.
Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium (+) tannin of ripe and velvety texture, medium alcohol, medium (-) body and medium intensity flavours of red fruit of cherries and raspberry, mineral notes of earth, animal notes of leather, sweet spice of clove. The wine has a medium (+) finish.
Conclusion: Very good quality Pommard with a reasonably intense nose showing decent complexity, with nice red and dark fruit aromas, earthy and spicy. The wine has nice finesse with an elegant structure, good acidity which balanced well with a nice fruity palate with some nice sweet spice flavours, supported with a fairly long finish. It is ready to drink now but can further develop for another 3-5 years.

  • Great over 4 hours. Not sure if I would have guessed Pommard if blind. Earth, spice and just a touch of rusticity. Very pure fruit. Surprisingly open and approachable now, though there is underlying structure and it will age nicely.
