Was concerned bottle might be well past prime. In fact it needed about 30 minutes to open up and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Lot's of well balanced tertiary notes, sadly no 'raisin' tones remained. Per WS drinking window is through 25. Glad there's one bottle left in cellar

Medium red garnet. This is a rich liush Amarone but has a freshness and touch of acidity to counter the sweetness. Earth, cocoa, cassis, tarragon, blackberry. 15% abv.

It is on it's peak now for me. Very well balanced - but only after a long decant. And on the 2nd day it was even better, smoother with better integration. Really needs plenty of air!. Best in the big Burgundy glass. Great Amarone that probably has a best drinking window of 6-12 or even with this 2011 vintage 7-14 years after harvest.

Virkilega gott. Orðið aldrað á litinn. En engin slík merki í bragðinu. Á helling eftir.

Nose was a little reticent, probably going to shutdown soon but was nice on the palate right on the get go with no decanting needed. Lots of thick dark juicy plums and cherries liven up by well balanced acidity and well intergrated tannins. Still young and probably will improve overtime but overall drinking beautifully now.

Deep ruby red colour. Ripe cherries and spices on the nose. Taste of ripe cherries, sweet spices and vanilla. Good complexity and length. Not as sweet as other Amarones I’ve tasted. Well integrated alcohol. Goes well with red meat, cheeses or meditation.

Dried resins come through pleasantly with exotic spices. Young for an Amarone -delightful. A great partner tonight with its best friends in Gorgonzola and Osso Bucco.

Tasted blind. Clear, medium (+) ruby with garnet hues. The nose is clean, slightly oxidized and raisinated, medium (+) in intensity with aromas of baked red cherry, blackberry, dried herbs, coffee, earth and some baking spices. The nose is developed. The palate is dry, with maybe just a hint of RS. The palate is consistent with the nose, but the fruit seems a little fresher and less stewed and the finish is savory. The acidity and tannins are medium (+) whereas the alcohol is high (15%). This is a full-bodied wine, with medium (+) flavor intensity and a long finish. It is an elegant, balanced, food-friendly wine which seems a little older than its stated age. Drinking well now and for several more years.

From a half bottle. Decanted over one hour. On the nose quite vibrant mineral(licorice) and some dark fruit. Medium bodied, supple, firm and slightly dusty tannins, showing discreet ripe dark fruit with licorice notes. Good basic stuff but felt somehow a tad mediocre and light given the price and fact that it is an amarone. Very quaffable though.

Propably a point or two less than it deserves due to personal taste. Not the biggest nose but with a bit of time in the glass there is all the typical Amarone aromas. Raisins, figs, some chocolate, light coffee, a touch of alcohol and VA. Ripe and dried! Palate is well balanced with medium(-) acidity, dried sweet fruit and round and soft tannins, in fact no tannins to speak of. Good length and intensity. Full bodied. Well made.
