Raspberry, earth, sous bois; fruit is fading, and terroir is dominant; elegant, extended, and expressive, though in decline, but still rather cerebrally enjoyable

Medium ruby with just a hint of bricking. Lovely intense red berry nose. Palate is smooth but has some heft. Really nice, no rush, tannins are still showing, drink now and over next four years.

Expressive nose with good balance between fruit and terroir. I could definitely taste the minerality that others have noted. Medium body and not too tart or acidic but also not too fruity. Very nicely balanced.

Second Sunday Group: Domestic Grenache (Frank's): Light color with notes of cherry, mineral and spice. Balanced and elegant, with cherry and red fruit with a mineral-tinged finish. Very nice. Enjoyable now.

Wonderful bouquet, which can perfume a room. Silky, medium body burgundy with length and finesse. A fine monopole premier cru from a good Beaune producer.

2012 Bouchard dinner with Panos – Mostly Bouchards (Ripple Restaurant in DC): More red fruits, fresher and structured than the Marconnets. Crushed red fruits, strawberry jelly, cranberry, a hint of blackberry, sap and mineral. Medium concentration, pure crunch red fruit driven palate impression, mineral, bright acidity and noticeable tannins. Very good showing.

(Artisan Wine Depot Los Gatos) - A nose of cherry and violets. Cherries on the palate with long finish. Very nice minerality. Tannins are well integrated with the acidity.

Very sweet, jube like red fruits meet cola oak. It is full and fleshy with plenty of flavour. needs some bottle age to develop more savoury chracters and let the oak bed ijn a bit.

Evaluating Bouchard Père & Fils: 2012s and earlier vintages (Ripple Restaurant in Washington D.C.): Shows depth and medium plus flavor intensity as well as finesse and elegance. An excellent Beaune red!

Lots of spice on the nose heading towards black fruit, still has its baby fat which makes it pretty yummy and fun to drink.
