Rich yellow in the glass. Honeyed and overripe stone fruit on the nose, with hints of matchstick/gasoline/sulfur as others have pointed out. Mature, classy bouquet. Slightly oxidative as expected given its age.
The palate was initially disjointed upon opening but came together nicely as it warmed up with some air. Probably a little past peak with the fruit starting to recede, but drank very well and consistent over 4 evenings. Would happily drink this again.

Dinner at Tonny's (Tonny Restaurant, Geylang Lor 3, Singapore): Quite a strong showing for a 13 year-old Bourgogne blanc. Served blind, I thought it was at least a village wine. The nose was typical mid-2000s Leflaive, all smoky and flinty and minerally, with a touch of ripe melons and fragrant yellow fruit along with a some flowers and lanolin. There was just something rather unusual and milk powder smelling about that bouquet, other than that, almost everyone on the table guessed Leflaive just on that nose. The palate was rather simpler, with sweet, ripe melons and lemon curd flavours all swept along on a strong spine of acidity until it finish with a little lick of minerality. Thus just lacked some of the complexity of Leflaive's better wines, but it was an astoundingly sound showing for a Bourgogne at its age. Drinking really well on the night too.

Much darker in color than the last bottle I had, on a downward decline -- some exotic truffle matchstick minerally spicy notes but also a bit of oxidation and element of past its prime... Was torn all night, good, but this particular bottle woulda been better a few years back.

Wow, drinking very well right now. Obviously Leflaive and still showing quite a bit of initial sulfur. Vibrant and complex. Punches well above it's Bourgogne weight.

This is drinking really well right now, with plenty of fruit to balance the vibrant acidity. Bit of the "Leflaive char" on the nose, but it's not overpowering.

As always, a wine that substantially exceeds its classification. Could pass for a PC. Floral and tropical fruit notes with a hint of wet stones on nose. Medium-bodied, beautifully balanced with a crisp structure surrounding a rich array of stone fruit and tropical flavors with some slate on finish. An expensive Bourgogne, but worth it.

Wow...initially this was an acid bomb, very little fruit...as it warmed up though it started to flesh out a bit, but it never really hit its stride. Hope this was just in awkward place and will resolve itself in time.

Gorgeous wine and got to be one of the best Bourgogne I've seen for a while. Initially hugely reductive with burnt match, sulphide characters. These blow off somewhat and reveal a detailed layering of chalky, mineral flavours. Most impressive.

Much more integrated than previous bottles. Still a bit of sweet tarts but now much more fruit, paraffin on the nose, white fruits on the palate, OK length with much more integrated oak/butter that is slipping into the background. No great shakes but should continue to improve.

This is the finest white Bourgogne I know. Of course, it is not priced like one either. Gorgeous aromas of pear and honeydew, wet slate. On the palate, rich but well-structured with a pleasing streak of acid and minerality. The fruit is pear and white peach. The finish has an interesting complexity, freshness, and nice length.

Fabulous with crab cakes. Vibrant acidity, full body. Lush silky smooth mouth feel. Great minerality. This wine is really coming around. Used to be very stinky and sulphury. Very good now.

Nose of lemon, orange peel and slate. On palate, very structured, but not unpleasantly so. Nice core of citrus, with some white flower notes. It will be interesting to see how the fruit holds up on this wine over the next several years. This wine has a lot of liveliness and depth for a Bourgogne; definitely of good village quality, at least.

My last one. Drank well after 5 years although it peaked probably a year ago, now it's dominated by the acid and doesn't have the fruit to balance it. The nose is still classic leflaive. Definitely a great vintage for the bourgogne to drink so well.

Chris and Ro dinner with Cyn -- Showed much more silky and subdued next to the Plumpjack, but still a flamboyant and expressive chard withy the telltale Leflaive roasted hazelnut and smoky asphalt.

Mmm, I love this wine, a baby Puligny. It's got that wonderful Leflaive note of stinky, flinty, minerality. Call it reduction or whatever you want, but a little bit goes a long way. Even though this is just a Bourgogne Blanc, it packs home the acidity and has a load of stuffing, mouthwatering, salty, tangy, sweet and sour all at once. Lovely.

Another nice bottle of this wine. All that you would expect from this cru. Nose of buttered popcorn, roasted almonds and white fruit. The palate has a nice zippy acidity which contrasts the easy, ripe fruit.

Initially very strong reductive notes of burnt match which blew off somewhat but not completely. Behind this there was lovely minerality with quince like fruit aroma. The wine tasted a little lean at first but slowly began to open up during the course of the evening. There was a wonderful harmony and weight which made this wine very enjoyable. Excellent drinking now and just starting to show some bottle age. A great example of how good entry level Burgundy can be.

The nose is open and has sexy Leflaive aromatics - new oak, flint and butter. The palate is open and full of round, ripe white fruit. This wine is great for what it is and drinks like good village wine.

Masterclass with Anne Claude Leflaive (Caledonian Club, London, England): Corney Leflaive Masterclass-clean yellow color, minerals on the nose, slightly reduced, this smelled like limestone and finally a wine that smelled like where it came from, puligny....medium weight, slightly sweet, medium length, nice quaff

Medium yellow color. The nose has some mellons, some lemon, spring flowers, and light sulphur that blows off after about an hour in the decanter. The wine is luscious and full on the palate with vibrant acidity and a mouth watering long finish. Much improved from the first time I tasted this. In another year this will be drinking very well.

Seattle Tasting Group does Pauillac (Seattle, WA): Wow, for a guy who is starting to get addicted to white burgs this was quite a treat. Painfully young, this is loaded with flint, wet stone, and a bit of sulphur. The palate cuts like a razor, intensely mineral, vibrant, chalk and lime. I actually followed the last 1/4 of a bottle for two additional days, and this just kept opening and changing with nary a hint of oxidation. Impressive stuff!

Very sulfury and reductive on the nose right now. Give this 6 months or so. The palate shows good weight and lots of acidity. Long finish. This is a very nice wine but is somewhat of a disjointed mess due to recent bottling. Lots of potential. 86 for now.
Day 2: After two days and lots of aeration the strong sulfury note is mostly gone. The wine has held up well. The nose is now pleasant with some citrus, pear, wood, and mango. The palate is luscious with lots of bright acidity. A medium length finish. Definitely better after lots of aeration. 50 + 4 + 11 + 16 + 8, 89 now. The wine stayed in the bottle in the refrigerator for the two days, I did give it a little shake from time to time to help aerate it. If you're going to drink one now, I would suggest decanting for 12+ hours.

Tasted blind. Thought 10-12yo 1er Cru Leflaive. Lovely distinct gunflint, bright lemony juice, salty minerality, subtle marzipan and honey notes adding complexity. Lively, round and solid.
