P: MF body; Almost swtish frt quickly met by an astringent pucker which evolves into a LONG finish with a very slight astringency to the dusty tannins. Though a bit ripe for my tastes, I *can* see this improving with 10-18 mos of cellaring. 91 pts ea WA & Vinous (Raynolds), & 88 pts WS. [As of early Mar '20, wine-searcher still shows 1 source @ $25].

The combination of being in the mood for a potent aussie shiraz, the wine's delivery of a flavorful blackberry, plum, vanilla palate, and the entertaining label = 90 pointer for me. This wine doesn't take itself too seriously but it is quality juice.

Big and jammy shiraz/petite syrah blend that was very dark and lush to drink. If the wine had a touch more acidity it would have been better. I still very much enjoyed it and wish I had some more.

Ok wine but nothing overly special. Bought at suggestion of wine store person who claimed it was great Australian but in reality, towards the bottom of the scale

Good wine, but lacking complexity. The wine is from McLaren Vale as well, not Clare, but I put it in under this listing. Great big, rich, dark red and black fruits upfront....cherries, blackberries, blueberries....compote and jammy notes with a touch of vanilla and spice. The back palate drops off a bit, with not much of a finish, and the wine lacks a bit of balance between the alcohol and acidity (which tastes like acidification was used.) Still, a solid and enjoyable wine for the price point.

A nice wine, particularly for petite sirah fans. Though that grape is the lesser portion in the blend, its savory richness dominates. The syrah provides lots of interest in terms of lifted fruit and floral spices, though (it wouldn't be much of a PS on its own).

If you like petit syrah, this is it. Blueberry, vanilla, and a long finish but not sweet. Great drinker. PS dominates but there's syrah here too which adds a spicy element.

Notes on Day 3. This time I really like the juicy structure of this shiraz/ps blend. It's got enough heft to make it a big bold red, but also plenty of juicy blackberry, blueberry and black plum to make it delicious.

This is well after the fact, but I remember this shiraz/ps blend came down on the side of juicy fresh fruit like a shiraz rather than the concentrated stewed fruit of a petit sirah. Pretty good. More details with the next bottle.

This is a nice wine for the money - fruity, easy drinking. Saved half a bottle for the next day, was still quite nice
One more left - will save for a year.
