Second bottle - same as the first - Very good Pinot enjoyed by all at a meeting. Did not seem to be fading (as the tasting window would suggest). Agree that it was a bit more reserved but I liked it.

Enjoyed for Valentine's Day at Rat's/Ground For Sculptures. Still a good pinot for an '01, with many years left before it starts to hit the downslope! Another great joy from Fiddlehead. Wish we had some in the cellar!

We drank this along with Cosentino & comparatively Fiddle Head didn't rank. This much hyped wine was way too subtle, I admit I like the bigger wines but I was disappointed nonetheless. Cosidering that Cosentino was half the cost & three times more flavorful I'm going to run out and get more.

Had another bottle of this, and my impressions stand up - this is delicious stuff. Was better on the 2nd and subsequent days this time. Opened this with Jen and Reuben during IFP week.

Firm and solid red color, with on opening just a touch of brett that quickly blew off to reveal nuances of pungent red berries. Again, a firm entry and a resolute red berrie like grip that had a strong acidity in the background that paired well with a few of my selections at Morimoto in Philadelphia(warm mushroom salad sauteed with curry, rice, and white wine... and a pan roasted arctic char over maitaki mushrooms and lobster sauce 'American') As firm as this wine was, it did not overpower the delicate preparation that surrounded my meal...

Delicious, with strawberry/sweet notes similar to Highliner, with not quite as many aromas or as much complexity. For less money, I might go with Sanford 01 Pinot. But good stuff nonetheless, has a little something special.

Wines Enjoyed at Pre Labor Day Celebration and BBQ (Casa de la Mata - Chicago IL): Mature red fruit with slightly fresher/ sweeter spice. Still holding its own.

I think this is a great example of cooler climate pinot. It is a bit more reserved but very well balanced and ready to drink.

Had this with P, D and K. Good solid pinot, maybe on its downside already.

Nice depth; forward fruit; was a little tight; better the second day (Brandywine Valley).
