Mellow but not old, good red fruit but not a fruit bomb, fully integrated tannins, some spice, and a long smooth finish. Very good now, and will be for another couple of years, at least.

Similar to last time. I must agree with Foobarski that this wine gets within sight of the fruit bomb border, but doesn't cross it because its not just one dimensional.

Having this again only a month later ... no real difference from my previous note (as you might expect.) Got one more bottle left ... have to let that one hang a while.

These have been a favorite over the years- always a lovely fruit core with brown sugar, brambles, etc., a nice earthy, complex zin. But now I've had 5 Woot bottles in a row that were flawed- some obviously zippy, almost cooked, some just harsh and disjointed. Not sure what happened. Anybody else experience this with recent Woot purchases of this wine?

Slightly rusty magenta. Big fresh strawberry nose, with vanilla and earth mixed in. Medium bodied, crushed raspberries, sweet cherries, soft tannins, a bit of heat, and a tangy medium to long finish. Good now, but I think it can get better in the next couple of years.

Raspberry cream and blackberry compote with well integrated oak and soft tannins. Fruit forward, yet restrained and elegant. Smooth, balanced and delicious.

A mix of red, black, and purple fruits on the nose with a big whiff of milk chocolate. A very typical Wellington zin; medium body, well balanced ripeness, good acidity and sufficient tannins. A few secondary flavors are beginning to come out and the fat is being shed. Great balance and not over done in any way, this will probably improve of the next 3 years and maybe longer.

A bit hot at first, but overall still going strong. No rust in the color or signs of aging.

A nice zin with brambly, thick dark cherry, a little cedar, spice, and a smooth finish.

Suffered a bit by comparison to the '04 we'd tried earlier, but still a nice zin. Lots of fruit.

Verging on being a complete fruit bomb, but staying JUST on the good side of the line. Very enjoyable.

A crowd pleaser now, well balanced, if somewhat soft, plenty of dark fruits, spice and pepper.

Quite tasty, was nearly identical to the last bottle. Might have some aging upside, but it's tasty enough now so why bother?

Blackberry! Ripe but not overripe fruit. Delicious overall. Wellington at his best, actually.
