Blackcurrent, some licorice, fine herbs. After some time, the nose gets filled with tar and leather. Some earthy notes too. In the mouth you get a harmonious play of fruit, acidity and tannins. The tannins get more pronounced after a while and a slight dryness appears. A great whine with still a lot of potential.

The wine looks light brown colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, red currant, raisin, mineral, vanilla and cinnamon. It tastes like blackberry, red currant and raisin. The body is medium. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity.

Smell, leather, ash, wet sand, little mint in background and also some black currant. Soft taste, little red berries, peppery, still some grippy tannins with good mounthfeel, good length. No hurry to drink this, next bottle in 1-2 years. (92+)

Nose has black berries, parfume, little pepper, stable tones. Taste has red berries, salmiak, pepper, a little hotness from the alcohol, ok fruit. High acidity and medium tannins. The wine are "sprawling" and probably need at least another 2-5 years to come togheter, but i like it and we will se what it brings with some more air under the evening.

high acidity, a lot of matter, giving a cocktail with a lot of potential, so well done in a slightly difficult year, long middle pallet, a long stay in the cellar will be rewarded, 91+

Benvenuto Brunello - Toronto 2014 (Toronto, ON): Wow another head turner! I have always thought of Caparzo as traditional but often unexciting, this is the first I've had that has wowed me. Nose prominently features tea and tar, again a tad Barolo like. Fruit seems to be in the dark cherry and plum spectrum. Palate has a big, fat lushness about it that is pleasant with a long black tea-like finish. Quite shockingly nice.

Solid brunello. Ready to drink but can take another 4-5 years easily. Great buy
