No notes on this one. Opened for reception. Not well received at reception or next day. Everything looked ok but wine tasted 'sour' was the term others used to describe the wine. Possibly 'way' past its peak.

Dark ruby almost purple in color. The nose is an explosion of red to purple fruit flavors intermixed with lavender and anise. Long finish and not lacking acidity considering the vintage. Great bottle of standard Chianti. Gonna buy some of this.

Tasted November 11, 2006 at a retail tasting. Opened and served in a Reidel Restaurant Magnum glass. Garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of mixed berries, cherries and just a touch of coffee. Flavors of cherries, red berries and strawberries. Medium acidity, tannins and body. Drink over the short to midterm. This was my second favorite wine of the flight and I would have bought some if I hadn’t already purchased a case of other wines already. Perhaps next week. Recommended.

Italy Trip 2006; 3/18/2006-3/29/2006: Medium ruby color. Nose of black cherry, licorice, with some nutmeg. A bit closed. On the palate it is quite smooth with good presence, not overly tannic, some acidity, medium body. Not overly complex, but nice. It got better with about 1 1/2 hours of air, and could conceivably be a few points better with time or more oxygenation.

85% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark ruby colour. Nose of vanilla, black fruit, and cream. Medium-full bodied, with blackberry, cocoa, cherry, earth, and spice notes. Moderate finish, 30-35s, with sottobosco and cherry notes.

Wow, keeps getting better. Wish this weren't my last bottle. Sour cherry, menthol, great balance...

It went well with rigatoni in a creamy tomato and herb sauce with mushrooms, however the spice of Italian sausage brought out the alcohol. 86 - 88
