  • Fersken, honning og mango på nese, men i munnen har sødmen mildnet og dette er i praksis en glassaktig, tørr vin med nydelig hvit frukt og bare et hint av sødme som er akkurat raust nok til å hånd om en utmerket osteservering

  • Alcohol 8,5%, 50 g/l residual sugar, 8,9 g/l acidity.

    Dense, deep and concentrated honeyed yellow color. Super-attractive, complex and beautifully matured nose with layered aromas of chopeed walnuts, caramel, some burnt sugar, a little bit of grated ginger, a hint of candied lemon and a touch of dried apricots. The wine feels very complex, medium-to-moderately full-boded and more medium-dry than medium-sweet on the palate with nuanced and somewhat tertiary flavors of sweet candied lemon and lemon curd, some freshly picked red apples, light caramel character, a little bit of exotic spices, a hint of dried peach and a touch of beeswax. The age is slowly starting to show and it has made the mouthfeel very smooth, even oily, yet there is high enough acidity that one could happily call this wine wine "racy". Stunning balance, really. The finish is crisp and lively with very long, vibrant flavors of caramel, some mushroomy tertiary character, a little bit of lemon marmalade, a hint of honey and a touch of developed saline minerality.

    A perfect, wonderfully developed Spätlese of the highest quality. Incredible depth, intensity and complexity here with an acid structure that masks away the sweetness - already partially hidden by the age - remarkably well. In out 12-wine tasting of Mosel Rieslings from 2014 to 1994, this was my wine of the night. Although somewhat mature already, I can imagine this wine will continue to develop for some time. No need to hurry. Spectacular value at 45,27€.

  • Beautiful wine!

    Appearence is medium gold.
    Not very aromatic for a riesling, I would say medium intensity. Towards the tropical-side of the spectrum, some pineapple and mango. Peaches. Some dried fruits. A touch of honey. And petro. An interesting nose, and you can definetly smell the maturity of the wine. In a good way that is.
    On the palate this is a really fresh and lively 22-years old. The fruit is still consentrated and very present, and I think the balance between fruit, sweetnes and acidity is good. But I am a fan of acidity though, and I can understand why some people think that the acidity might be a little overpowering. The finish is fruity and long.
    Conclusion: a nice mature and off dry riesling. And drink now! This is delicious right now, but I think the inevitable decline is just around the corner.

  • The wine is clear with a medium lemongreene core, looks developing.

    On the nose its clean and medium intense with qaromas of: lime and red apples, kerosene, stonefruit like peach, and hint of tropical fruit. Developed

    On the palate it is off-dry, high acidity, low alcohol and medium+ body and flavour intensity. Aromas of greene apples, lime, stonefruit, slate minerality, mango and tropical fruit, kerosene/petroleum, long finish

    Drink now, o think it is at its peak now. Well balanced spatlese with high acidity and good concentrated aromas, not the most intense spätlese but is medium complex and has a long finish, but just. This is a very good quality wine, 90-91p

  • Lively despite more than 20 years ageing and complex because of that. The sweetness has evolved and faded and this creates a bit of an imbalance between the sweetness and acidity. Has some really interesting flavours and I really like it but would probably have been better with more rs and should have been drunk 5-10 years ago.

  • Light golden color. On nose this is delicately clean and fresh, with an evolved complexity!

    On palate it is very rich and perceived as sweet with a lively acidity, but ending in a long finish. After a few sips I sense that the acidity might be a little overpowering and brings the wine ever so slightly out of balance.

    Overall, this wine is so lovely and refreshing and its hard to tell that its more than 20 years old! Drink now or store.

  • Blind.
    Gummi og petroleum på nese med en liten tropisk touch. Gummi og petro avtar noe med luft.
    Ganske så viderekommen nese.
    Moden munnfølelse med fin sødme og friskhet til å matche.
    God konsentrasjon og lengde.
    En bra vin, men litt mye petro på nesen.

  • Våt papp og kjeller. Aprikos og akasiehonning i bakgrunnen, men våt papp og kjeller slipper aldri taket. Korket.

  • With Sushi. Bright golden clear colour. Tropical aromas dominated by pineapple (ananas). Soft start. Round. Sweet, but good (not to sweet). Good complexity. Last long. Flavourful and relative complex. Just after opening of the boootle, there where no notable signes of age. After a while in the glass (and slightly warmer wine) came the smell of petroleum.
